Yeah, right.

So at the student admission day they told us to make this the summer of our lives, go on a cruise or something, well moving to Tulsa is it for me so does anyone have any idea of good things to do around here besides drinking and poker? Any must does? And about the 23rd, if it matters I will not be here that weekend if you all get together.

and I will show you the path of enlightenment, for I am the Grand Sage, wisest (and graduated) member the OSU SDNers 😎

actually . . . .

after you get the party line from drmom and the "party" line from fenrezz and direwolf, come to me for the caveman view of medical school 👍

caveman tip #1: if you don't have to, don't.
caveman tip #2: if you have to play along, play along.

the meaning of these things will become clear to you once you start in august. 😎

Oh and by the way, only one noble soul offered to help my broke foot a$$ with unloading the truck. The offer still stands: Beer and Pizza on me. We're looking at next week, Tuesday (19th) or Wednesday (20th), depending on when the truck gets here.

Have a good one everybody!

If it is on Wed. I can help....just let me know

sorry caveman, forgot about you since you moved. How's internship?

Homunculus is indeed wise.

internship is going well. lots more responsibility-- the safety blanket of "i'm just a medstudent" is gone. but it's fun-- much better than school.

and yes, OSU does a good job of preparing you, even for allopathic programs 🙂

OSU treating you ok?

caveman tip #3: use the test to take the test.

hey guys i just registered and i wanted to say hi. my name is best and i met alot of you guys during student day but i can't remember names. i've been lurking to try and figure out who everyone is. i remember xray because i interviewed with him and justin because he was also single. thats about it.
im looking forward to getting to know everyone as school starts. and hopefully bumming knowledge off of everyone. im also looking forward to the move to tulsa. from my time there i really enjoyed the city much more things to do than okc.

Welcome Best. When do you move to Tulsa?

prolly next week or whenever i get the motivation to pack. i'll let all of my new friends know when im in tulsa.
if any of you guys want to come down to okc let me know and we can hit up some bars.

Sorry I didn't speak up sooner but if any of you first years want to meet some 2nd years and some other 1st years, there is a group of us (2nd yrs) that go to "Pint Night" at James E. McNellies every monday night. They have good beer (similar to tapworks) and on Mondays you get to keep the glasses. You don't have to be a drinker to join us either, they have food and sodas too. 🙂

By the way, I am Scott Fowler, Class of 2007.

ps. fenrezz, you still owe me money

All of the ones I was in were an honor to fenrezz, not to me. Besides, he doesn't really owe me money, I was just trying to get his attention.

To all you 3rd years, how are rotations?

Howdy, howdy.

Just wanted to introduce myself again and thank everyone for informing me about this forum. I'm Jeremy Jones, and I'm looking forward to relaxing the rest of this week in preparation for an Ada tennis tournament. Also, I've greatly improved my golf game over the past week. I'm thoroughly convinced that I have shaved twenty strokes off of my game. No more finishing rounds in the 140s ... rounds in the 120s are so much more encouraging...

Just a quick question for the masses: does anyone enjoy playing poker? My friends affectionately know me as "Fold 'em" Jones, and I wouldn't mind showing everyone the art of folding terrible hands.

Adios for now.

What time does this distinguished group usually gather?

Kat, the Monday night festivities begin promptly at 5:00 pm, the more the merrier, just look for the rowdy (not Distinguished ) group at the big table to the left of the entrance,

Ahh, Mr. Jones we meet again. It's been awhile, keep up the recreation, you've got the right idea as to how to spend the rest of the summer.

You may now return to your previously scheduled program

Well, it seems Hernandez answered all my questions before I could so you all know what time it starts.

As far as poker, we have had a nearly weekly game. There will be a No-Limit Texas hold em tournament before school starts back up. 1st prize will be 100 dollars. Let us know if any of you first years want to play.

Howdy, howdy.

I'm definitely interested in both weekly events. I'm practically moved into Westport, and I should be a permanent Tulsa resident by next Monday. Woo hoo!

Ah, Hernandez! It's kind of nice to be going down to Ada this weekend ... I'll get a great chance to see some of Byng again. Whenever I play tennis, everyone can tell that I'm originally from Byng ... whenever I hit the tennis ball, my racket makes a funny, "bing" sound.

Adios for now.

Sorry i havent been as social wit everyone. Just trying to spend time with friends/fam before i get sucked in for the next 8 years or so.
I am looking forward to hanging with everybody. 🙂

Why have I not been informed of this?

Ah, moving never ends. I have been doing it since June 20th. The boxes never become empty. But I do actually live in Tulsa now. I can tell that it's a great city already. Crazy summer!

Just wanted to lean in and say hi to all the old and new people. I hope your summer is going great.

I'm officially unpacked. The boxes are all gone now. Good luck to those of you who don't have it done yet. See y'all in a few weeks.

Why is it just as hot up here as it was in Dallas? I mean, 97 degrees? Give me a break.

Fowler, I'm back into some money, so I'll deffinitly be able to make it to the next poker night,

Meshwag, I'm actually in Byng at the moment, but I'm going to do some shifts at SW ER tomorrow and heading back to tulsa after that, I keep hearing talk about finally dozing those crap buildings they called classrooms we had to set in back in the day,

Hey Everyone,
Just got back from my Honeymoon, so if any of you were wondering, "Hey, where's Corey?" here I am! My wife and I have finally moved into our place, so if any of those non-native Tulsans out there need someone to show them the town, just PM me or something.

Looking forward to the 16th,
-Corey

Hey Guys, Just got back form Pucallpa Peru for a mission trip... Glad to see you all... I will be seeing you guys real soon I suppose...

God Bless

Does one have to be a good player to get invited to this weekly game?

LOL, being a good player will most likely get you uninvited to a poker game rather than being invited, lol

sign me up for the next one...i'm really not very good, but i enjoy it

OK, I will be up for the next week deal in,,, just drop me a PM to let me know where I should drop off my bank roll,,,lol :meanie: Besides, I can take off work, I only have 10 days left of it anyhow,,,,,,

Howdy, howdy.

I'm excited to see that quite a few people have made their way to Tulsa over the week. I may be settling in Tulsa a week later than I planned ... my old junior high school tennis coach is having one more week of tennis camps, and you can never pass up the opportunity to hit buckets of dead tennis balls.

Between Thursday evening and Saturday morning, I've managed to volunteer to see my friend dress in a life-size rubber duck costume. Also, I accidentally (and briefly) became flirtatious with an old high school classmate and a married woman ... at the same time. I was starting to wonder why I don't frequent clubs in Oklahoma City...

I am trying to get ready for the fantasy football season, but there's only so much I can do. It's not looking to be a great year when my top priority is making sure my friend doesn't draft Joey Harrington.

Adios for now.

Could someone please tell me where James E. McNellies is located?

My thoughts exactly. Arent you in FLA?

I am at the moment. I'm coming back for my next rotation in August tho. I think I broke the record for the most number of hours spent playing poker in a casino in one month, so the thought of at least keeping the streak partially alive is appealing to me. 😎

how 'bout ricky williams screwin' your fins? at least you've got shaq now. . .

I don't even want to talk about Williams. That guy is certifiable. Thank God my next rotation is psych so I may understand what his brain damage is. That rat fink bastard traitor scum son-of-the-lowest-slime.

How can you not be excited by Shaq tho? People in Orlando will be seething to see him back in Florida wearing black and red. Woohooooo! :meanie: :meanie:

Howdy, howdy.

For those of you worried about the Dolphins, I suspect drafting Travis Minor as a number two running back in your fantasy football draft isn't unreasonable. Wannstedt will still want to run the ball ... I'd just wait until rounds three or four to draft Minor (or whomever the Dolphins might acquire in the next few weeks).

Deal me in for the poker as well. If you have cards, Fold 'em Jones will show you what to do with them.

Adios for now.

Be careful with Hernandez's Directions, 1st and 2nd street (along with most of the lower numbered streeets downtown) are one-way.

If all of the cars you can see are pointed at you, then you are going the wrong way.

McNellie's is on tonight at 5:00 p.m. as always. First years, you have to find your way to become part of the group. Consider it initiation. However, if you can get there, your first round is on me/us (hopefully some of my cheapo classmates will help me with this, if not on me only).

Hey guys, some of you met me last night at T.J. McScratchy's and at Scott's house. I'll be around this summer and hope to get to know many of you before my social life comes to a crashing halt in three weeks.

Also, count me in for poker when the urge strikes you.

-wade

Fenrezz,
Where in Fl were you? I graduated from Cape Coral.....

Many thanks to all you second years who were so welcoming to us first years last night
