OSU-COM class of 2008

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
he speaks much truth!

It is so good to be back on and here again...

But so much greater is being Here at OSU-COM

It is a DREAM COME TRUE!

Howdy, howdy.

Remember the histology questions for Tuesday at the beginning of lab on Tuesday. Also, if anyone has done this yet, I was wondering if there was a general preference among all of the Atlases in anatomy.

Special congratulations to Jason, Justin, and Tiffany, who represented us first years very well at the poker tournament this afternoon. In fact, Jason ended up in the money, getting third out of eleven players.

Uhm ... "Fold 'em" Jones was slightly worse than third...

Adios for now.

Netter is the gold standard for anatomy atlases. However, a few people preferred Rohen.

I am beginning to see the advantage in both...

Dissecting Group....

What did you think of our first day.... ?

It was really interesting.... and Tiring!

Later

yeah you know me though DM... I am always tired.... Yeah right.... Just need to get used to the standing aspect....

It was great.... lots of concentration....

Time to go back in a few minutes

I tore my spinalis muscle today 😡 On the cadaver of course, if i had torn mine i wouldnt be typing right now. Id be in bed with a morphine drip.

Oh well at least you can see what it is.

I was told that I came close to a previous record by cutting myself in anatomy lab either 4 or 5 times (can't remember for sure now). I believe that the previous record was 6. Maybe you should ask Dr. Jarolim. 😉 I did not, however, have any cuts that even came close to needing stitches...and they have had to send students for stitches before.

Needless to say, I'm not going into surgery 😉

I only wish the girl across the table would figure that one out.

Don't you just wish you could make a clean, straight incision into the muscle with a probe, as Jarolim does?

sometime the week before finals, you'll figure out how to do that 😀

yeah is that not the darn truth.....

Amen to that. Id probably end up cutting my surgical staff by mistake 😱
(watch out DrDad!!!)

At least i havent broken any blades. Ive pretty much stopped using the scalpel now.

Dude, just sharing the love Nick, but stay far far away from surgery....

Darn near took my little digit yesterday in lab

notice the timing of the post, fairless... between classes

nah, we saw you looking at it during class..in the front row, too.

Dr. Nick said he overheard a professor talking about the "guy in the front row checking his email during lecture"

ah, they should all be used to it by now since I did it all of the time...but I was on the back row in the main section 😉

😱

WTF are you guys going to class for?

I understand your confusion. I just found out about it last week. Crazy concept.

I kinda like hearing him preach.
I will still be eating my chlorinated hydrocarbons though. Splenda is great.
Oh, btw, folic acid masks b12 deficiency not b6, lol.

nah they weren't really talking about him I just wanted to make him sweat.

I sit on the back row also.---but not the VERY back row----Dr. Meek really doesn't like people sitting back there, and so I don't want to be "marked"

I sat in the very back, and Dr. Meek still gives me high-fives when I see him at school.

Speaking of peeing, dr. jarolim got a kick out of me asking him to excuse me for a moment while he was assisting us with our dissection, because "my transitional epithelium were distended". He told me i better go take care of it or my sclerae would turn yellow.

Im a nerd.

you are a nerd, dr nick  but you did make me giggle

Just wait until you get the lecture where Dr Jarolim stands up & declares "I am the gubernaculum"

Someone in my class had a pretty bad reaction that may have been due to the formaldehyde. She made it through the semester, though.

Someone in the class ahead of me had a really bad rash due to the formaldehyde. She was excused from dissecting for the last month or so.

Justin, that is something that you would do, Good Buddy!

Also, I am truly thinking of taking the DM's advice....

TrUlY

DrDad

I wonder if it would look strange if both me and DrDad suddenly manifested formaldehyde allergies at the same time...

speak for yourself DNick

BTW you are weird... I love disecting.... My 2nd year was telling my side of the table that eventually we would be really close(sickly so) to the cadaver... I was like" I already acidentally rubbed my cadaver with my cheek twice, I was so close"

oopps...

Hey sorry y'all for some of the sarcastic comments that I made earlier, and possibly may have been taken the wrong way.

I didn't intend to imply that I have any problems with our school or anyone in it---in fact, I'm very glad I came here.

I also appreciate all of the hard work that everyone has put into making us MS-I's feel welcome.

Ive accidently put my elbow on her a couple of times. No biggie, as long as my arm doesnt go numb from formaldehyde.

For the record, I like dissecting too, i just dont like my poor feet hurting 🙁
