PF Changs is pretty expensive. My boyfriend and I would normally order 2 appetizers (like crab wontons and seared tuna) two dinners (he only eats beef and broccoli - loser :meanie:, and I get singapore noodles or mongolian beef or lemon chicken or something else good) and the crispy banana wonton dessert with ice cream. That alone is like at least 50-70 dollars. Then if you get drinks it's much worse.
That's so expensive!!!! But oh so worth it.

Anyway... we have all the normal chains (We don't have west coast-only stuff like Jack in the Box or whatever, but that's a given).

Sonics drive-in is my favorite.
We have Jack in the Box and Sonic... but they're on like every corner so it gets boring after awhile!

We have this chain in south Florida called Bahama Breeze... omg soooo goooooddd.
Is that like a mexican baha grill? We have Baja Fresh that's sort of similar to that. But it's a little expensive for a fast"ish" food type of place.

There is a french restaurant in my hometown that serves crepes (dessert and dinner crepes called gallettes) and they also have brioche, eggs benedict, baked brie with fruit and bread, pastries, soup, etc.
mmmmmmm i love crepes~!~~~!~!~@!@!@~~!@~!

I really like food if you can't tell. Oh yeah there are good restaurants on South Beach too but they're expensive. I like Taverna Opa (greek food, dance on the tables and break plates and throw napkins), Nexxt (normal American/European food), and Jerry's Famous Deli. The menu is as big as I am I swear... there's like 400 items on it, full bar, open 24/7.

Um... California Pizza Kitchen is a guilty pleasure too. I love the split pea soup and spicy tequila lime alfredo pasta.

I LOVE GREEK FOOD!!!!! I love all food but just the other day I was thinking of Greek food. Is it pretty expensive to eat out in FL? Anytime I go to a restaurant with my mom and brother it's at least 30 (and that's at like a cheap Denny's place). When the economy wasn't so bad we'd go out to eat at least once a week but now it's all in home dining & tv dinners 😛 I love going out and dressing up to go to fine dining. Especially sea food type places . Food is sooo costly but so good. Do you guys have any good BBQ places? I love BBQ food too!

I'm taking Micro just to make my application better I guess. I also just added another pharm school to my PharmCas that requires it, so if I'm accepted there I would have had to take it over the summer anyway I guess.
What schools have you applied to? What's your #1 top school?

Maybe sausage and waffles, but fried chicken? At 6:30 AM? >.> Jeez, so much protein. I could see a bodybuilder eating that almost every day of the week though.
Hahaha you eat it for lunner (lunch+dinner)... not breakfast!!!

You have the expensive chromosomes but I have the expensive stereotype. Well, I will in 30 years.
it's good to dream... and one day i'll own a cave house in spain... just for winter vacations

and this car --- well the updated newest one with a sleeker design

I think we were thinking the wrong thoughts, I think.

No offense to the other Asian people on this forum but I find this hilarious being an Asian female. Sort of ironic too. I noticed as soon as I started driving last year (I got my driver's license last year in January) that I was really the only one who actually signaled 200 feet before making a turn (and gave ample time for the blinker to blink before changing lanes).

My Mustang cost as much as an E-Class... does that count?

Probably more to insure too, since I've got the expensive chromosomes.

I know this kid who drives a 6 series and his insurance is more than his car payment... I think everything totals out to like 1300-1400 a month. 😱

No Bahama Breeze isn't Mexican... I despise Mexican food . I guess I could never live in AZ because all my boyfriend's family eats out there are tacos and quesadillas. LOL (They are extremely white and American, but they love Mexican food). I get really bad heartburn sometimes so I can't eat really spicy or acidic food. Even pizza with too much sauce bothers me. 🙁

Florida has very little Mexican food actually... we have a lot of Cuban and south American food which is not spicy at all. Bahama Breeze is like a Caribbean/island cuisine, but mainstream. They have jerk chicken wings, jerk chicken pasta, Cuban mix sandwich, conch and shrimp fritters, beer battered onion rings, etc. We have Baja Fresh down here too, but I've never been.

Eating out is probably the same price here as it is other places, depending on where you go and what city. Seafood is much much cheaper though. My family is from the Keys and we can catch our own fish pretty easily. I actually went to a waterfront restaurant today for my dad's birthday and I had fried Hogfish sticks. They're really good with lime squeezed on them... I don't like tarter sauce😱. Hogfish is one of the cleanest, least fishy, whitest meat fish in the ocean. It's part of the snapper family I believe, but you can't catch them on a pole... you have to dive and spearfish them. They eat crustaceans like crab and lobster.

We have a lot of BBQ here. Shorty's BBQ is the main one... and Miami has this other place called Uncle Tom's BBQ but I've never been there. I personally don't like the chain's for BBQ though... I like the privately owned hole in the wall places better.

As far as pharmacy schools go... in no particular order:

LECOM-Bradenton
University of Florida
Mercer
South
Palm Beach Atlantic
Campbell

(I already applied to UF and Mercer not that long ago)
I'm finishing my supplemental for LECOM now
I can't finish pre-reqs in time for South bc it's a 3 year school and starts in the summer
PBA and Campbell... I need another LOR for them still

 That's pretty bad giving into the stereotype.

People in LR might expect for me to be a slow(er) driver compared to most drivers, since I'm from a small town, but that's never true. I personally think most people in LR drive too slow for me

does this kid happen to be single??

Don't get too excited... he lives with his grandparents and he's a huge tool. He has a job and I presume he spends his entire paycheck on his car alone. 1300-1400 a month is like rent for an apartment so I guess if you live for free than that makes it doable. I would personally not want to be working just to drive a certain car. I actually think he's trying to sell it because his license is suspended due to horrible driving record.

Funny you should mention speed. The first time I started driving I was astonished, LITERALLY astonished, at how many people speed on the high way in Colorado. At first I was "ooooooooo! He's speeding!" And then another, and another, and another. "Omg, they're ALL speeding... :scared:! Jeez, no wonder so many people die from car accidents." 😡 Seriously people, the amount of time you chip off the time you would have arrived at your destination is not worth the lives of other people on the highway. :diebanana:

Emergency vehicles are an exception though.

I take joy in obeying the speed limit and all posted signs and signals.
Because I know it pisses people off.

People speeding there is probably not as bad as people speeding here. There's always too much construction and not enough lanes for anyone to speed a lot. Whenever I drive fast, I'm always faster than any other car on the highway unless it's like a 300c SRT8 or a corvette trying to race

The amount of time you save matters on the way to school and on the way to your job if you have the possibility of running late. My parents always said to leave a little early if that's the case, but I still don't risk it

i was just kidding. most people who aren't professionals (doctors, lawyers, pharmacists, etc.) and waste that outlandish of an amount on a CAR a month are ultimately stupid. i bet he's even leasing it too... b/c people are dumb like that to lease an expensive car just to trade it in for a "newer" one......

i love how people with nice cars typically don't have their licenses. i know a few kids my age who don't have licenses yet drive mercedes and hummers...... their parents must be smoking crack giving keys to an unlicensed driver. i had to wait so long to get my license, however i'm glad i "legally" obtained it versus driving without one b/c AZ doesn't play w/ licenses and suspending. my friend's ex boyfriend drove on a permit & got caught criminally speeding and lost his license privileges until he's 21. (mind you he's on 16 (or 17) now).

👍 i love when people get so ticked b/c they're riding your tail and you're not going faster so they try and run you off the road. *snicker*

how about people who go 20 under the speed limit? hahahahahahah:laugh:

I leave at least an hour early just "in case" ... but then again i live in the middle of nowhere - one way in one way out type of deal.

what kind of car do you have?

i'll race you sometime.... want to get smoked by a chick driving an Altima? 🙂

Lol, ignorance is bliss.

 My car is slow compared to what everyone else drives. But if we're doing anything like drag racing, I'll smoke you

Ask me when I'm a pharmacist and I'll smoke everyone in this forum  with my V10
v10 on a pharmacists salary???????

hahahahahahaha PUH-LEASE.

you'd need to be an AIG ceo receiving "bonuses" in order to afford a v10 (i'm talking lambos and audis)... not truck v10s or dodge vipers 😛

There are plenty of ways to make more than a pharmacist's salary if you're good at other things in the business world.

My roommate's parents bought an SLR and wanted him to sell his car to take over the SLR. He refused lol

They wanted him to take over the payments on a half million dollar car? Or they just wanted him to have it? I don't blame him if it was the first option. Unless he's like, a billionaire. LOL

Yeah he's not leasing it but it is still stupid nonetheless. LOL

My ex boyfriend from high school got a manual honda civic when he was 15 and only had his permit. It's crazy how many parents get their kids a car before they're actually 16.

I really can't stand people who drive under the speed limit. Why would you do that unless you have a doughnut on your car or something? When I was going back to college for the start of my junior year my tire blew out on this really desolate road in the middle of nowhere (everglades) at 1 in the morning. I was the only person for miles and AAA had to come find me and put the spare on. I had to drive 50 miles on that thing... including the Florida turnpike. People (including the police) drive 90 mph on the turnpike. FML

sure it wasn't an SLK?

SLK's are manageable but geez i bet there are only a few hundred SLR owners in the US lol

Yes I'm sure. Here's a little background lol. He was driving an M3 and an X5. That was his 2nd M3 ... first one was an M3 roadster along with a land rover in HS. He was shopping around to buy a porsche turbo during our first year together. He has a Bentley sitting around at home that no one drives. 😱

Bah, the best thing is to drive something nice but mundane and have it modified to hell and back. Something like an E55 AMG would work nicely.

So you have a fire-breathing hellwight that you aren't afraid to leave in the Wally World parking lot.

Well, that's not much of an FML. You were trying to be responsible 👍

I totally jinxed myself. All this food conversation made me so hungry, but since there was nothing to eat except chips and salsa I decided to go against my better judgment and have some. I have the most horrendous heart burn and I am afraid to assume a horizontal position.

I can only eat mildly spicy food in moderation mixed with other food that isn't spicy. :scared:

That's horrible. I would hate to be stuck in the Everglades ... someone could have killed you!

>.< WHAT?!!!?????! Are his parents like stock holders of Microsoft or something?!!?

LOL, an Altima, racing?

That's funny 😱

I lost my huge discounts when I didn't re-enlist. Active Duty SMs get the best rates. I get a small discount still, though. The car is so expensive to insure, my agent tells me because it's rare among other things.

I agree. It's so funny when people who race get into a crash. Especially when it's street racing. The only sad thing is that I can't be there to rub it into their face when the police come. 🙄 No sarcasm intended.

I always keep it on the track.

My favorite experience ever was back in 2003 at the height of the Fast and the Furious craze when kids were maxing out theirs, or their parents, credit cards for modifications, including nitrous, turbo upgrades, etc.

An Integra pulled up to me and started revving. I revved back a bit, and when the light turned green, he predictably took off, spinning all the way through 1st and 2nd gear. Naturally, I accelerated normally. The next block up, I saw a cruiser flip on his lights and light the dude up. Ah, to have had a handheld camcorder for that one...

The 1/4 track is the best way to race, IMO. And people bring all kinds of stuff to the Grudge Match days, including VW Beetles / Vanagons and their parents' Camrys. Good times.

Then you put $150 on yourself to beat a 1989 Chevy S-10 p/u, and he puts down a 10.5 second 1/4 mile, and you realize you should've seen the blown 454 under the hood...
