How? amazing money, no call, and procedures. Sounds like a winner to me.. I wouldnt do it but I thought about it.
 
ortho.. the whole service is a mini trauma rotation.
 
I wish.. ill be here all f-in day. stupid call after stupid call already.
 
getting called about patients not even on our list.. I love the ed.. take me back please..

Once in a blue moon do they come in for that. I have only called GI (peds) once. Rarely are they called in my (limited) experience.
 
no my friend.. fear the intern year. Dumb ass calls all day about pts you know nothing about.. BLOWS
 
Half the calls are like.. Oh Doc, Mr Jones cant pooop.

ME: ?WTF? Im on ortho? then "Uh ok, are there orders?"
Them: "Oh yeah"
Me: "Did you see them?"
Them: "Yeah"
Me: "Did you give them dulcolax?"
Them: "No thats why I am calling you."
Me: "There is an order written."
 
as a student it didnt bother me.. but now that i spent some serious time in the ed... it reminds me why i picked it.

The people are nice though

dude after 18 hours.. my feet are starting to smell..
 
I sure hope i brought my extra pair of socks.. its the next best thing to showering when you are on call.
 
I sure have padded a lot on here. 13 freakin newbies... killed today..
 
of course i dont enter the or.. must answer all important pager..

Oh yes my friend.. we ONLY take call on Sat OR SUN (but one of the 2 EVERY week). I got here at 6 am today.. ill leave around 8 am tomorrow.. BLOWS!
 
yeah i wish.. well im awake.. drunk crashed cracked a femur..
 
i hope this doesnt delay my leaving since she will be rolling to the OR..
 
overall though we only have 3.5 months of call intern yr. 2 as juniors and 1 as a senior.. not too terrible. Our PD believes EM is learned in the ED...
 
Was definitely too wild of a weekend for me. Now I really have to study!!!
 
So, anyone else notice that Michigan is still number 2 in the BCS?

Am I the only one that has a problem with that?
 
So far I've checked the battery, tried a different one, replaced battery cables, had the starter tested, sanded down the contacts. Now, I'm taking out the ignition switch tomorrow. After I check that out and sand down the contacts, if the thing still won't start, then I won't know what to do. I'll have to think of something. Rest assured though, the Cruiser will live again!
 
Stuck in an elective right now and much rather be home. I have no patients and no consults were given to me this morning. We've already rounded with the attending, but the rest of the team wants to wait until 2p to round with the fellow...that's about 3 hours from now. This blows!

I don't work today, because my attending is driving to the state capitol.
Tomorrow I work a half day. My elective isn't that bad. And next month I have off. 👍
 
I ended up leaving. I have no pager to recieve consults from...and I have no active patients. There was no point in my staying to round for a second time, this time with the fellow who is completely unorganized.

wont last.. If USC beats Notre dame and/or Florida beats Arkansas (top 10 right now). I think they jump over Mich..
