I thought I would add. I start freakin Ophtho tomorrow.. 2 weeks.. I hope it is cool.. I want to learn how to properly use a slit lamp.. maybe even see some goodies in some peoples eyes.

DOH! Don't even get to celebrate huh. That's not right! I plan on having March 13-19th off that way I can celebrate 😀 (or drown my sorrows 🙁 ) appropriately.

Congrats! Great news, especially since you got your #1.. Im waiting a little longer and then hopefully I too can celebrate. I have that week off.. I call it a "working" week, as in Ill be working my elbows.. keeping them bent the whole week!

A good friend of mine hasnt been in a hospitals (except for interviews) since Oct. How does someone manage to go all the way to August? 😳

That's when I finished med school. I started at Ross in Jan '02. A non traditional start date and a non traditional schedule (no winter or summer breaks) equals quite a non traditional graduation date. 😀
It's great being done. It sucks being poor.

Maybe one "very" few people (me included) - and you have to count out the "single and happy/loving it" people (as much as I believe a good portion - not all, but some - are deluding themselves).

Hmmm...well, sometimes I love it (like when I get to be selfish about what I want for dinner, when I don't have to worry about what time I walk in the door at night) but then there are times when I hate it (like when I am snowed in and think about what a wonderful opportunity it would be for cuddling).

Being single in med school can be really hard, though. I'm pretty cut off from my family by geography, and I left this whole other wonderful life that I had built post-college to go to med school. If I were still in the same town and going to med school I think it would be easier (non med school friends around whenever I wanted) but harder (non med school friends around ALL the time!).
