I'm so excited over your acceptance to PCOM, MaximusD! 👍 At PCOM, is "delayed decision" the same as general hold (no reason given) and thus the adcom would review from time to time, but not necessarily at the Tuesday meeting every three weeks? Or is "delayed decision" a very nice way of saying "wait list"? Thanks.

I have a firstborn! He's 19, makes decadent desserts, and is in college ($$$) but do you think that will still work??? ! Anything for an acceptance and off delayed decision! All other ideas are welcome for the nontraditional.

um, well, I would definately take your acceptance. It's an acceptance! And that's not to say give up on PCOM. If you're waitlisted then you always have a chance of getting off the list at a later time but with the same logic, just in case you don't, you don't want to give up an opportunity to go to med school. Remember, whether you go to PCOM or LECOM-B, in the end, you're a doctor and that's your main goal.

So if i were you, i'd go ahead and accept at LECOM-B, but don't give up on PCOM and see if you can get yourself off the waitlist. Goodluck!

Hi, I'm new to the board. Starting checking out SDN when I was preparing for my PCOM interview. I had my interview last week, and I got my letter this past Tuesday. I was put on the waitlist... so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I have heard that there has been some but very little waitlist movement in previous years. I hope that some SDNers are the recipients of this movement this cycle 🙂

I'm trying to stay optimistic. My friend at PCOM said that she has a lot of friends who were taken off the waitlist during the summer as other students withdrew. Also, a few years ago, everyone was pulled off the waitlist, so it all depends. I think we have to keep in mind that this board is like a fishbowl, so any speculation within this board is only a tiny percentage of everyone who applied.

However, I still do like to lurk on this site because it gives me some insight on what other applicants are thinking and feeling, and that I'm not alone.

If you want the waitlist to move, just pray that a few people don't send in their 2K deposit in May. 😀
