PGY1 Pharmacotherapy Resident vs. PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Resident?

Is there a difference or is this semantics?

Pharmacotherapy is typically a PGY2 program. The only way you could have a PGY1 pharmacotherapy resident is if this individual is in their 1st year of a 2yr pharmacotherapy program. Otherwise the correct title is PGY1 pharmacy resident. However, yes, this is all technicalities and semantics.

And just for completeness sake, what is the focus/specialization of a pharmacotherapy residency? What opportunities would a resident prospectively have after completing a PGY2 in pharmacotherapy.

isn't this usually a academic sort of rotation, often on a faculty path
