Picnic Day is a huge campus open house, basically. All the departments have exhibits/shows/etc. The vet school always puts on the Doxy Derby (racing dachshunds--it's hilarious), different clubs have exhibits, they have tours of the VMTH (nothing you haven't seen already, though, I'm sure). They have a ton of animal events--frisbee dog competition, sheep herding competition, there are always dog rescue groups there, the animal science dept. always has a lot going on too--AI demonstrations, milk a cow/goat, petting zoo for kids, plus there are equestrian things like polo, draft horse demo, etc. etc. Main campus departments have their own events--physics and chem each have their own magic shows, you can get grape plants from the viticulture & enology dept. and tomato plants from one of the ag depts., tours of various buildings, etc., etc. Anything that's giving away food, plants, or whatever, generally has long lines.
🙂 Plus there's different bands performing, different cultural clubs on campus performing dances or serving food, there's a big parade in the morning...there's a ton going on, basically. It goes on pretty much all day. Here's the website:

And of course, there's always the "stereotypical frat guy" way to spend Picnic Day...some bars are opening at 6 am that day, serving dollar beers all day!! Not that I'm *suggesting* that by any means
😉 more warning anyone who decides to come that some people can get a little...rowdy.
