ah cerb, if i had been getting your practice scores.....if you are pessimistic, then your pessimism would be like a frantic japanese accountant walking home from work, and my pessimism would be none other than godzilla (or perhaps rodan, depending on the day)! j/k--we're all gonna be ok, things just suck major ass for now. how will we all feel three weeks from now?

I am just generally pessimistic today (which isnt really characteristic of me). I may be scoring decently on the MCAT practice tests but my grades this semester are sucking, I have a mediocre (slightly below average for my state school) GPA, crappy EC's that arent sports related, and now a ****ed up knee that may put me out for the rest of the season.
I want to club a baby seal!
come to think of it, even though my scores were nearly identical, for some strange reason, 4R did seem a little tougher than 3R. at least i'm not the only oneDid anyone else find 4R more difficult than 3R?

Finally, done with finals (which went extremely well )! I am going to take an AAMC test tomorrow.

4R seemed a lot harder, especially the verbal. What was up with the scale for verbal? - it was so strict!

There's a bunch of other little things you can do, once you discover them all, doing well on this exam is simple.

heh thanks...I'm actually an MCAT Teacher at my university. So I know my subject matter, but the key to doing well is mostly in the technique you use - I think I've gotten that almost perfected (except in verbal). There's always little tricks to get the most difficult of questions correct. Like for example, those annoying passage-based questions that you narrow down to two answer choices. Most of the time you can get them right because only one of the answer choices will actually specifically answer the question well. You cant get an accurate conversion from TPR because their tests dont in any way represent the aamc versions.

I don't think that's true...
A-D suck as indicators, but the diagnostics aren't too bad.
Just speaking from experience... of course results will vary from person to person.

Well, my only experience is from A-D. I assumed they were diagnostic tests

When I took the class, this book was just an extra set of tests for anyone who felt like they needed more material; however, all of the instructors told me NOT to attempt them.
The diagnostics were separate and much, much more doable.

AAMC 3
PS 13 V 13 BS 12
Is test 3 legit? it was so much easier than TPR

you have to have faith that all of your work will come to fruition on the real deal.

UCLAstudent, CanIMakeIt, don't despair. i know next to nothing about the tests from Berkeley or Kaplan, but i've been jerked around by TPR enough to put things into perspective. you have to have faith that all of your work will come to fruition on the real deal. i've busted my balls off since the second week of january, and until this afternoon, i thought it was all a waste. then, out of thin air, i actually did well (improved 8 points between diags--although some of that is pre-scripted TPR bullsh.t due to insanely hard diags at the beginning of the course).
keep chugging. like me, your time will come.

I am doing bad! I hope the real stuff doesn't become like this or else I will just be applying for a PhD. My problems seem to be being too fussy/pedantic at the beginnings and rushing through the last 4 or so passages and therefore making silly mistakes. It is obvious my perfectionism isn't doing me great good.
Took tests in a single, continuous stretch:
AAMC 3R PS 10 VR 11 BS 9
AAMC 4R PS 10 VR 8 BS 9
PS/BS are constant while VR is plummeting, well 5R will further confirm or reject the hypothesis.
got lucky on VR by a point, or else it woulda been a 7. Apparently so many stones need to be unturned before April 17.
