My take on the whole thing is that if you cheat your way through the system (i.e. use connections to get in somewhere you can't otherwise), you're going to end up competing with people far more capable than you are, and you'll be miserable trying to keep up. Further, you can't cheat your way through treating patients, so if you're SERIOUSLY incompetent, then your career will end quickly. In any case, I believe that if you sneak your way into a school or career you don't deserve, you're just gonna end up paying one way or another.
And MAN! Bushbaby..that's ridiculous. Unless your prof just gave you a C, chances are the grade pushed you ahead of another student at your school in overall rank. Not fair at all. It's interesting to see you try to diminish the magnitude of the situation by calling the advanced bio class an "elective." As if that's supposed to make it any less corrupt or unfair.
What made me write this post is seeing you explain how the school tried to f*** you up. What the hell kind of attitude is that??? Hypothetical situation: What happens when a patient presents with symptoms that seem to indicate one disease, you prescribe what you think is the right treatment, and it ends up hurting the patient because you didn't notice some nuance that would have made you realize a different course of action should have been taken. Your being handed a diploma doesn't bother me nearly as much as your unwillingness to take responsibility for your situation.
