NSU-COM. I think during the beginning, because their office got so hectic, there were mixups. But that's a scary mixup to have. I actually just got accepted there last week but I'm gonna call to double check because ima scurred 😀

Haha man I dont blame you. That would be tragic. I feel sorry for whoever that happened to.

I had something similar happen with my acceptance letter to NSU last year. I had already been informed by email of my acceptance but when the letter came the first paper I pulled out was a rejection letter. My heart skipped a beat until I saw the name at the top wasn't mine. Looking in the envelope I found another letter that contained my acceptance. The NSU admissions staff has been know to be a bit careless.

The school I'm at lost my secondary application.

I called them near the end of the cycle to see why I never heard from them and they informed me that I never completed a secondary.

After a few calls to the right people my app was found, still in the computer system marked as in-process. I had submitted it 8 weeks earlier. But somehow when I submitted and payed the fee, my app didn't get marked as complete or something. The school even said they'd been waiting for it.

So big mistakes can happen. Not that mine was big in the grand scheme of things, but it was big to me. I almost became a reapplicant because of a computer glitch, I'm just glad I wasn't content with the "silent rejection" this once.

You are HIV Aladeen....

alternatively,

You are Aladeen from/to Medical School.

You seem to have a lot of time as a physician please let me know of your specialty and location I want to grow up to be just like you.

Just checked my PM box. This was sent Friday. Titled "Please edit your post to not include names"

Why? I don't understand.

And you decide to quote his message with the name on it.

Why? I don't understand.

Don't you think you should be asking him this since he is the one making the request with you? I see that you only have few posts so you may not be familiar with the fact that when someone sends you a PM, they are hoping that these "private" messages remain confidential. He is obviously trying to keep his and the school's name from being posted on SDN until this issue gets resolved.

Why? I don't understand.

went ahead and reported your post for you. I don't thing there is any possibility in which you don't know exactly why.

Don't be that guy. If we are lucky the mods link you to your real SDN account and that one gets to go away as well. Generally being a jerk is one thing, but persecuting someone specific across the net is another. Get a life.

And, as a vBulletin forum administrator myself, I can tell you that it is exceedingly easy to look up matching IPs between accounts and determine when someone has made a dummy account.

Good call.

I'd like to publically apologize for watching you guys put water back into a busted dam.
I am sorry.
I will never type someone's user name or use truthiness ever again.

Thank you for reporting me, so that I may be permenantly banned from further conversation with racists and pals.

Honest question: Though it might be morally wrong to post his name in this thread, but is there actually a rule that refrains people from just posting someone's name? I understand posting PMs are against the rules, but mentioning their names?

And I, too, think that if this was a troll he'll come back and so, but if it was real, we won't hear from him again on the issue.

Im not a mod nor do I ever claim to be some sort of SDN vigilante of "Da Rulez" so take this with a grain of salt:

Exposing people IRL is against TOS. While yes, he did set himself up for it by choosing the names that he did, this user appears to be trying to scrub his internet footprint. Because of that reason alone it is probably in violation of the TOS to prevent him from doing so by continually reposting his info here. Aside from that, it is just plain douchey to do so.

Again, I publically apologize for using truthiness.

I wonder why a AlabamaCOM wouldn't like people that say racist things?
And why a web forum that makes profit off communication would not have a vested interest in deleting evidence of consequence of saying things that aren't encouraged by state and federally funded schools?

I'd like to publically apologize for changing my user name to myTolkien character and not using racial slurs.

This is prime example of two wrongs nit making a right. It's a good idea to have this thread so we can learn and grow from it, but it's another thing to attack and berate someone that has most likely had their dreams crushed. It takes a very cruel person to revel in such a time.

and still someone who made a brand new shiny account specifically for this purpose. Or at least that is how I am calling it. Joined up this month, has only posted 6 times, and knows much more about this than any SDN true noob really should. lame

wow....

well theres something you dont see on SDN every day

Why didn't King of the Hill get in trouble for this character on it's show?

im going to go play on my 3ds XL now.

You obviously already have a good idea what's going on. Quit throwing salt on a wound. You're not funny or witty.

You're not apologizing. You're trying to troll. Its so childish. If you have something to say about someone, just come out and do it. Don't hide behind a new account. That's cowardly

Dear ManBroDude

I see you have a nifty gold donor badge...
Can you please delete this thread and let's just not talk about this until we get some kind of a definite resolution to this?

Pretty please? I'll show you my boobs if you do....😉 Promise😀

Jk...but seriously though.... If you don't mind. This has to be torture for Voldemort.

I keep forgetting you are a girl... that line weirded me out for about 6 sec

You've never heard of the caribbean?

You hear of Caribbean graduates that can't find residencies but you don't hear of attendings being unemployed. There's a different between the two and I hope you'll figure that out one day.

I doubt there's anything in TOS that would constitute a violation because he reveals the username of the person in question. Wanting to delete his/her history to disappear from the forums is his/her prerogative and not the job of mods/admins to help him with it.

I didnt say it was necessarily accurate, but harassment of other members is a violation, and discussions specifically about 1 member on the open forum could very easily constitute harassment. I wouldnt be surprised if the thread gets locked if we started using names and discussing the individual rather than keeping discussion on the pre-med related topic of anonymity and such.

You said physician, not attending.

The whole thing was deleted by the mods, including its counterpart in pre-md. Was it an epic practical joke by a friend like some thought? Why was it not only locked, but deleted as well?

Edit: Please refrain from calling this person out by name until the whole thing gets sussed out.

Given the thread title and the original post, I doubt the "pre-med related topic of anonymity and such" was the point of this thread...

What does that have to do in any fashion with whether or not the thread skirts thin ice by addressing the poster by name? The last two threads on the subject were locked before they were deleted. Gold membership doesnt give the ability to lock. Therefore: there is some issue with continually focusing on the individual member.. In general, off topic threads in a topic'd forum stand a greater chance of getting locked down. Ive seen them do it to several that are more of a "hey let me post this to my pre-med buddies" and less of a "hey htis is related to being a pre med"

Hey Spec,

Not trying to pick a fight here. Not sure where you're going with this either. As far as we know, the member in question still does not know exactly what is going on. And it just seems a little insensitive that we're on here talking about it without regard for the torture this is for him.

This thread is titled exactly as the first post on this mess was and in between discussions on anonymity, has rehashed the story, mentioned his name and the schools name, things I doubt he wants given that he deleted the other thread. He has PM'ed a member kindly asking that he not be mentioned directly (since apparently we cannot keep ourselves from speculating) and what happened? His PM gets posted in this thread.

This thread right now is basically a gossip rag... The freaking US Weekly of SDN. If MBD deletes his first post, it all goes away...I believe and hopefully nobody else starts a new thread on the topic until something definitive is known.

That is basically what I am getting at. I am not intending to make things any worse for him, which is why I called out bombadil in the first place. There is value to be found in this whole thing regardless of the outcome, and yes, everyone is interested in the outcome. It will be very difficult to keep people from discussing it. However, this poster doesn't wish his name to be spread around in connection with events and to not heed that would very likely constitute a violation of TOS and, as previously noted, is just mean spirited. So.... I have been promoting the idea of keeping discussion oriented towards pre-med-related points and less about gossiping about someone. That may be a stretch .

You said physician, not attending.

I was asking the question to a physician that's an attending not a premed that hasn't even attended a single day of medical school.

Gotcha.

This thread should not have been started to begin with, IMHO.

Yeah I agree. If he wants to come back and make a thread to tell us what happened then thats great. Otherwise we should just let it be...

it will blow over quickly following monday.
Either it is a hoax and life returns to normal, or it is not and SDN gets 1 more new account with a very different name and this user realizes that acceptances are not discussed between schools and that there is no reason to ever discuss this at future cycles.

No kidding. I would never bring it up unless it was asked if I had an acceptance rescinded at an interview, and the odds of getting that question should be astronomically small.

Agree completely. I believe that his life isn't necessarily over even if it is true. He can boost his stats, maybe retake the MCAT and reapply next year everywhere but Hogwarts. Unless he'd be required to admit he's been previously accepted of course. That could change things.

AACOMAS only asks about prior matriculation right?
