I have a meeting with the Dean of Admissions at one of the schools which I applied to and am wondering what to wear. It's not an interview, it is just a meeting to discuss my application.

Do you think a suit is necessary (Sorry if this is a dumb question)?

You could wear the suit jacket, and then take it off when you guys sit down and talk. Or just bring it with you just in case you feel naked without it.

slacks and jacket without tie, or (this is my recommendation) slacks and a pressed shirt with a tie. looks respectful but not like you're trying to outdress anyone.
