Random AADSAS Questions: 2018-2019 Edition

I am taking a class this summer, but plan on submitting my application before it begins. Do i need to send a transcript request form to the university now or after I take the class?

I couldn't get it to work for my UCLA app so not sure. Sorry.
 
What should be included if there is a supplemental question asking "Additional information the committee should consider". Is this general remarks about you, or what?

Yeah so essentially what is not in the application that the admissions committee should consider.

Is this kind of like you vouching for yourself, like "I will better your program if you give me the shot" type of thing? Or moreso something like "I failed this class because of this"?
 
I used mine primarily in the first capacity. For UCLAs I wrote about why I would be a good for the program and why they should take me when so many other applicants are better.

This was the recommendation for me by other dental students.

Not sure. I applied and don't see anything. On the instructions it says that we should receive a decision during the first week the app is open.
 
For pre-reqs (I.e., biology), do we select every bio course we've taken? I.e., genetics, micro, molecular, cellular, anatomy, etc.?
 
For filling out prereq's on the application, when a course is listed such as "Principles of Biology I" or "Principles of Biology II," what all do we put for that? Do we put all of the bio courses that might count as those under each of the respective categories? Those are so general so its hard to tell. Thanks!

I have another question about the prerequisite portion for the individual dental schools. When selecting a course that fits their prereq, should I only select one? Because several of my classes fall under their prereq category. For example, one prereq has me assign a bio course but it says it can be microbio, molecular, or genetics and I've taken all of those? It lets me select more than one but I just wasn't sure.

This has been answered many times, in this thread and others.

To all applicants: Just put the pre-reqs they're asking for, matching the number of units. Don't exceed. They already have your transcript to refer back to if they want to know what upper divs/other classes you've taken. The pre-reqs page is just so that they know that you've satisfied all their pre-reqs- just like a first screening step.
 
I asked this question a few times here, but didn't get any response. Which section should we list our certifications? like CPR?

CPR can’t go under licenses (I was wrong), as it is only RDH and DA, etc. I would still determine if it is really beneficial to the application. A CPR course isn’t necessarily rigorous, whereas being a lifeguard or EMT is (throw it in under description for an experience). Just my opinion on that, my CPR expired, so I haven’t thought were I would put it because I can’t list it anyways!

I mean, sure they will find out your a great person at interviews, but I’d throw in there that you enjoy people, and that you can be compassionate, etc. Might be bad advice, but I figured my application didn’t really show that (I decided not to mention my people skills in super plain detail in my PS, so I figured that was a good plug).

yeah I'm having the same issue - I'm gonna call adea and ask if there's a way to fix this
 
If I took a couple college courses in high school, would I have to record this college as attended and enter the classes under that college?
 
Hey guys so I applied for FAP and sent in all my materials mid May and they said if you applied in May the earliest date of notification is June 5th. I was wondering if anyone received anything since then. and whether waiting a couple of extra days will do harm to my app. I sent in my transcript yesterday because my school had a late semester end and my school only doing mailing so it will probably take a week, so i guess it won't be complete anyways. thanks !

They said the FAP decisions will occur in the first week.

Quick question regarding the supplemental fees. I just submitted my applications and paid the ADEA fee. Do I wait for the schools I applied to to contact me with the supplemental fee payment portal? Or if they have the link listed on the AADSAS should I just pay it now?

Check each schools site. Some will email you while others have a site that you go to and fill it out.

How long does it take for AADSAS to update my application with a submitted LOR? My professor said he submitted yesterday but the request states as still pending submission.
 
Hi y'all,

I have a question regarding sending the DAT scores. I took mine last year, but I did not at the time indicate to have it sent to all the schools that I will be applying to this year. The ADEA has already verified my score on my ADEA application, so is it still necessary for me to mail each school a physical copy of my DAT score via the ADA? Thats a lot of money considering I will be applying to 10+ schools

Mine updated pretty much instantly. My professor submitted it this morning and I received an email within an hour saying the evaluation was received.

There is an extra submission button that a lot of writiers miss. Just ask him to check if he hit the submission button.
 
For some schools, (i.e. UCLA) it says 12 credits required of Gen chem on the ADEA application, but on their website it says 8 semester credits or 12 quarter credits. Same with UCSF in their english, Columbia with biochem, and im sure several other schools too. Should we assume that everything on the website of the individual school is the correct number of credits, or will the ADEA page be the correct one?

I would follow what is on the webpage of the school.

What NYU supplemental? Do you mean under "questions" on ADEA? Those are the supplemental? Because on this website, it says the supplemental are not given until the time of the interview for NYU.

Not sure what you mean here as 12 Q = 8 S, the 12 units it says on the ADEA application is the 12 Q units required, which is equivalent to 8 S units, and I think it only shows 12Q because UCLA is on a quarter system.

Yeah those questions are the supplemental and then after submission you have to go to their site and pay the supplemental fee.

Thanks I think I'll wait until end of this week, if they still haven't got back to me I will just submit the app without FAP, but thanks !
 
I can submit now with no LORs and add them into my application once they’re completed through Dossier/Interfolio, correct?

And I can add more schools to apply to after I submit for the first time, correct?
 
After submitting the primary application, when should I expect to receive secondaries / application fee payment emails from schools?

Correct you can submit without letters and add them as they come in.
You can add more schools after you submit.

It is entirely dependent on the school. MUSC doesn't open their until July 1st, Western has theirs open on their website now, UCLA is included in the AADSAS. Each school is different on when and how the secondaries get done.

It depends some schools you submit payment right away (Western and Roseman for instance) some will not send you the link until they start review applications.
 
I called one dental school today and ask them about the sections that we have to put our certification under. The girl wasn't sure and she put me on hold twice to ask another person, finally she told me that put it under achievements and I said that we can't upload any files under achievements, she said ok then put it under licenses. What should I do now?
 
I just submitted my application, and while I thought I double checked everything, I realized about five minutes after submitting that I forgot to copy paste all of my employment descriptions into the appropriate boxes (there are 6 experiences now with descriptions that say “will add” or “copy/paste after grammar check”, etc). I have already emailed AADSAAS about it, but I just can’t sleep, does anyone know if this is fixable?
 
How do I know if an applicaiton fee was received by a school? I submitted like 5-7 last night, but only a few schools sent an automated confirmation email back.

I think if you call them, they'd be able to help enter it manually from their end. It might be a pain in the butt for them though

You can try contacting AADSAS but from my experience, they can’t do anything at this point. You can probably send the descriptions to each school that you apply to.

As long as you get receipts for all of them, you're good. I'm guessing you mean secondary fees, and you will get receipts for all of them, even if it's not right away. Wait until tomorrow to contact the schools I'd say. Since you submitted last night, the confirmations should come today.

Not sure, but if anything, you can send the schools you applied to an email explaining what happened, with a word doc/PDF attached of how it's supposed to be. Then they can just add that to your application file.
 
Hey y’all I have a question! So I plan on submitting my apps tomorrow but I’ve been shadowing pedo the past few weeks and will be there through next week so I was wondering if I should put my current entry through tomorrow’s date but mark it’s still an ongoing experience, then add a new entry next week with my hours I obtained since submitting my app? If anyone has any thoughts on this I’d appreciate it!
