A lot of my pre req classes incorporate lab into the class, so the lab is not listed separately as a class, I was just wondering how dental schools can tell? How would they know if the class had lab if it wasn't listed separately?

My assumption would be that the credit number is usually a give away. 3+1 for lab separate or 4 with lab included.

I have this same question, as Loma Linda requires a clergy/spiritual leader letter. I am fortunate that my physics professor was my bishop for a time, but having him focus on the spiritual aspect of my life may not be super helpful in basically every other school. Should I just advise him to not worry about brevity and to include academic and spiritual?

For Loma Linda your "spiritual" letter doesn't need to go into your AADSAS app. I applied there last year, when they send you a secondary there is a place there for it!

You can select up to six to highlight. The AADSAS gives the schools a page, sort of like an abstract to a paper, that tells them about you. Those 6 experiences and 4 achievements get put on that page.

I think you can add up to 10 of each experience

I have 20+ experiences. You can only "highlight" 6 of them. These will be portrayed as the most important experiences to the dental schools. Shadowing is volunteer since it doesn't really fall into any of the others.

No clue tbh but worked for me, with each course only 3 cr.

10 each is probably excessive. 20ish amounts to about 3-4 for each section. I feel like what I included provides the right amount of detail for my application.

If you have more, then I must have read incorrectly. I think that is from previous application cycles.

Right now you can start filling out the entire application. Transcripts are probably important as they can take a couple weeks to arrive and get processed. The other thing that I would recommend is getting you recommendors added so that when they are finished they can add the letter to your application. As long as you as submitting before the end of July it is still considered early.

From the AADSAS Instructions page:

"What is my “Title?” Who is my supervisor?
If you did not have an official title, you enter the type of activity you did; for example, “Dentist Shadow” or “Nurse Shadow,” etc. The organization is the location where or for whom the work took place and the supervisor is the person who was responsible for you or was in charge of your activity."
For description I focused more on what I took away from the experience and a brief 1-2 sentence description. That is what my wife put and she got in anyway 🙂 I put DMD, MD in the title if that is what they have. Specialty I put in the description if it is not included in the title of the practice.

They won't because you have not given them authorization to contact them. It will send up a huge red flag to schools though that you said no. It leaves the door open for them just make an assumption as to why.

I’m not sure how much this answer will help but when I sent in my transcripts it took them like 2 whole days longer than my TMDSAS app to update that they received it. I would just maybe give it a day or two and see before contacting AADSAS

I mean if it is an unimportant activity that you didn't do a lot of hours then, then sure, you could take it out if you want.

The AADSAS calculates the grades after the transcripts are verified because some schools use a +/- system and others use a straight grade letter system. The AADSAS calculates based on what each individual school uses.

I put mine stuff under achievements because I have read on other threads that those types of things are not considered licenses. I did include that in a list of questions to the AADSAS yesterday. I will post what they tell me when I hear back from them.

For example, I took a third semester of organic for my major, should I select this class along with the first two semesters? or should you just select those main classes that directly fall under the requirement?

The general consensus here is that you only include what they ask for. If they ask for 2 semester courses then that is what you will select. You could always double check with the schools though if you want confirmation.

if they want two semesters of bio, should I select the two bio classes that I did the best in? Or am I supposed to list general bio classes, and not include upper bio classes.

From what I know, which isn't a great deal so take this with a grain of salt, they are not really interested in the classes but just that you did a minimum number of bio, chem, etc. They are going to get all of these classes in the GPA calculations and your transcripts. As long as you have over a C in these classes I am not sure that it matters. Essentially my understanding is that this part is either complete or incomplete. The actual substance isn't of huge importance.

I personally just put down my general courses and for the electives I just picked whatever I found in my transcript first. Your best bet to be sure though is to contact the schools and see how they look at the pre-req page. Each school might view them differently.

I called ADEA AADSAS yesterday about the same issue. They told me that “accepted” means that the evaluator has answered the questions and uploaded the letter but he/she hasn’t click on submit. It’s still in preview.
You need to contact the evaluator and ask him/her to submit it

I asked them yesterday after I asked about my problem on evaluation. The guy didn’t know the exact answer. He said that it’s better to contact the schools that I am interested in and ask them directly.

1)From what I can tell, the application submission opens on June 5th. Is this correct?
2) Are we supposed to wait until that date to send transcripts or will they accept the ones received before then?
3) I read somewhere that submitting before mid-July is still considered "early." Would this mean hitting the submit button or submitted and processed/transmitted to the schools by mid-July?

The application is open now but you cannot submit to schools until the 5th.

You can submit transcripts and do everything except submit.

The mid- July date is having your app sent tp school. Meaning your lors, transcripts and dat must be in and verified.
