How long does it usually take for the schools to send you out the interviews?

Depends on the school. If you look at school specific threads from past years, you should be able to get a general idea of when each school starts.

If you have a weakness you wish to address, I’d definitely do it there. I have seen here on SDN people approaching the same question by discussing the more “intangibles” not addressed on the application. Be a great time to describe your personality, or to place emphasis parts of the application (like part time work while in school, etc.)

Just undergrad because it will typically show up on your transcript so they want explanations about those.

The schools actually receive a lot of different GPA calculations, not just these. Schools will probably look at both, but each admissions person will probably have their own preference.

I don't think it would hurt your application. But a lot of it depends on whether or not that dentist has any pull with the current administration. It might just be viewed as just another letter if he doesn't really know anyone there.

Yes. When you hit submit, you are prompted to pay. You can submit to each school individually (if you don't have the money to apply to all schools at once) or submit all at once.

In the FAQ section of AADSAS, you'll find the following - "Indicate whether you have ever been disciplined or placed on academic probation while attending an academic institution. If yes, enter an explanation in the spaces provided."

To me, that sure sounds like they're expecting you to report incidents prior to college. You could also just email AADSAS info. I suppose it's up to you whether to be honest, but it's definitely not something I'd want to be confronted about in the future if I hadn't reported it. Besides, I don't see it having a great impact on your application if you've done well in college without any infractions.

I doubt it matters. You'd have to contact the schools directly for a sure answer.

-> Should we consider adding specific dental school events, like dental impressions conference or specific school introduction day in our experience section? (ex. UCSF Impressions Conference, UOP Dugoni Discovery Day, etc) I heard that dental schools like to see an applicant being engaged in attending those events and see that in the app, but I realize most of these events are a 1-day event so I don't know if it would be significant for my application or not... What are your inputs? Thnx~ (and if I should, would I put these events under the category of "academic enhancement"?)

I included those kinds of experiences on my app, and I put mine under academic enrichment!

I heavily used my resume to fill in the employment achievements, but rather than bullets I listed it out as sentences. I think bullets wouldn’t hurt though, probably easier to scan over when reviewing

I don't know if this is a repetitive question but for UCSF and NYU, but are the supplementals already part of our AADSAS application (like we send our primary and secondary together)? Because I see a list of questions for UCSF with four 500 character-limit questions (+ extra section) and 2 questions for the NYU... After completing those questions, would we just need to pay the supplemental fees after submission? Thnx for the response~

Some people choose to use Interfolio, but it is by no means necessary. If you don't use Interfolio, your letter writer simply receives the email request and can directly submit your letter through the provided link.

Wait. The school usually sends an email confirming you have paid their fee and will send you additional requirements like supplementals if necessary. If there is not, then you check to see what the status under AADSAS is. If they have recieved everything, it'll change to something like '''Application Complete'' or 'Under review' . If you haven't sent everything in, you will see a 'waiting additional documents' or something. The status part of each school application tells you what the school thinks of your application, so when you get and interview, it changes to interview offered, which will hopefully turn into offer made!

Well after I paid the $102 for each school on ADEA, it now says "complete" under "application status" for all schools. However, for some schools, I still didn't pay their supplementary fees.

So I was looking at the f&q, and it says once your application turns to 'complete", then they will start verifying your GPA. After that, it will says 'verified". But I am asking how do I know if schools revived my supplementary information (fees)? Like how do I know that the schools has all my documents. Do i give them a call?

Some schools will send a confirmation email once they've received both your verified app and supplemental fee saying everything is complete and that your app is under review. You can also contact each school to verify.

I am sure this has been asked before, but are health courses consider science courses? I have a Public Health degree and I am pretty sure Biostatistics and Epi courses are but not sure of a course named “Public Health” will be consider a science course?

According to their classification guide, public health is a non-science

Speaking of reapplicant topic, I just had a question about the secondary application: Would the school look at my application negatively if I list out all the schools I have applied in my last cycle and not get into any of them? (like I applied 20+ schools)... I already have one from my PI in biomedical research who originally taught me in a pure science undergraduate research course, but the second one comes from my major in engineering. I'm not sure where to draw the fine line for whether a professor is considered a science professor or not?
2. One question for applicant to UCSF, when matching prerequisites the school requires "h. Social sciences, humanities, or foreign language (in addition to requirements "a" and "g")." of 11 semester units but was not present on AADSAS. Should I ignore this or possibly contact the university?
3. Some of my courses are matched with AP course but some universities do not accept them. Currently, I'm listing those courses on second semester of my senior year in case I get an offer from these few institutions. In that case, I would take it and be able to fulfill the prerequisites during application. Would you think this method would be frowned upon by the committee?

Bottom line, email each university and ask what they are willing to accept. Every school is different.

2. If the prerequisite is not listed on AADSAS for course matching, they will likely just look at your academic record to check that you've taken 11 units in those subjects. I wouldn't be concerned as long as you have actually taken enough credits to fulfill it.

3. If I'm understanding correctly, you currently have AP courses matched to certain prereqs, but have inserted 'duplicate' courses as planned for senior year that would potentially fulfill the prereqs for schools that do not accept AP. Since each school has a different prereq matching form, I would not match AP courses to prereqs under schools that do not accept AP credit. Those schools will see that you plan on taking the courses senior year. If AP courses do not fulfill the prereq, why put them there?

It should take a couple of days, so you'll probably hear back Friday or next Monday. People are getting verified fairly quickly this cycle. As for secondary fees, you should look on the schools' pages as they have information about when to pay. Sometimes it's through their portal, while sometimes they ask you to wait until they tell you to pay (like UCLA does this).

Match it exactly! If it differs and the ADEA team doesn't want to fix it for you, they'll return it to you for you to fix and that'll delay your application. Keep everything the same so that everything goes as smoothly as possible.

In my opinion, no. You could save yourself that money or use it towards applying to another school.

Yup! Any planned courses you're going to take. You don't have to stick to it, but schools just want to see what you're planning.

Right now it is taking 1 week for verification of transcripts and GPA calculation if it goes smoothly

All my letters and scores are in, I have paid a handful of supplementary fees and I have received emials from schools saying my app is complete and will be reviewed. But on aadsas all of my schools still just say verified... is this normal or happen to anyone else. Is there anything I can do to make sure my app is correct. Sorry again if this was already answered.

That's normal. Each school varies if/how they update the AADSAS status. If you got emails from schools saying your app is complete, you're good to go.

Check the website of each school. Some you can complete the supplemental directly on their website.

Yea, I did that already and everything has been sent in, but the "check status" doesn't change from verified.. even for schools that emailed me saying "everything has been received & your application will be reviewed by admissions."
