Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

We've been through highs and lows in Part 5. From the final matches of Andre Agassi's career to the loss of the World's friend, Mr. Steve Irwin. May he rest in piece.

i kind of have a random question:

how do people decide between U of F, FSU, U Miami, USF, (any other schools?)... are any of them significantly stronger academically in some areas? is there a different vibe between the campuses ?

At the time, I only had friends older than I was that went to UCF and UF. My UCF friend hates schools in general so his opinion didn't matter. Plus, I wanted to move out of Orlando. My friend at UF (at the time going there) is a lot like me and really liked it. I didn't visit any campuses at all.

We have a close family friend who was at FSU and graduated Fall 01 (I started Fall 03). He said he liked it, but suggested I go to UF for sciences. UF does have a pretty good research dept. Very good hospital facilities, etc. Didn't know much about USF to want to go there. They did offer some extra money (I think $3k a year in addtion to in-state scholarship), but it didn't really matter to me. I never applied to Miami. Private school that was too expensive for me.

I have no regrets after graduting. I would've stayed for this year, but I already had all my credits to graduate and I don't want to pay for living expenses there.

thanks for the tests... there's nothing conceptually hard in the beginning, just memorization

No, I have no idea where you heard that, lol! Although I did apply for an econ job, didn't get an offer. Based on the job duties, I would have to write a 30 page report on a sector of the economy they assign, monthly. And present it to media if necessary. A little boring, but I guess that's what econ boils down to.

Well, I did talk to a financial advisor today saying he had some positions open and wanted to know if I was interested. He said it's not analytical, which is what I was looking for. More of sales and stuff. Something I can't do, not good at.

No, once I start the next thread, I won't be here for the rest of the weekend. I actually might be away when the next thread starts so I'd give Dr. Durden the duties for that. If he's not there (which I doubt), then you could if you're here.

I don't think I'm ready for that kind of responsibility anyways... I wonder how far up in the rankings I'll be this time around though... how do they generate the post counts for each member? Is it something we can do too, right now?

You can see how many posts you have in the thread by clicking the "number of replies" number in the MCAT forum next to the thread title. It's about 9,200 replies right now. You have 150 posts in the thread.

No idea, I don't go into pre-allo much. All I remember about him was him having an interview soon and he came in this thread and didn't stop talking about the mcat. I was talking to BB about Kimber from nip/tuck and he kept asking if she'd help him with mcat. So he was probably trolling somewhere else, too.

We threw out our old air-conditioner last night, but the garbage collector never picked it up .....now it's just there on the sidewalk 😡

RAD - sorry about the A/C. Usually that's considered junk trash and regular garbage people won't take. But I'm sure someone will come by and pick it up if you leave it out there long enough 😉

I can't decide if I want to be lazy or get stuff done today. I think I'll probably have to get stuff done even though I just wanna hang out with the man. Oh and one of my poor dogs has horrible diarrhea 🙁 I was going to let them in the house but I don't know if she can control it ...

As for the A/C, no one picked it up 😡 and garbage collection is done for the day....my hubby had to get it out of the sidewalk before the neighbors complain.
