Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

LMAO at your comment about NYU missing your MCAT score.

CONGRATS MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You r gonna rock the interview!!!!!🙂

Thanks 😀 I think it would be a great school but I'm afraid it's a little out of my laugue. But i'm going to give it my all at the interview. Who knows:laugh:

word, i'll second that! Fe, even if your MCAT is below their median, I don't think anyone could miss your incredible GPA. Feel good about those interviews...you deserve them!!! 🙂

Thanks senti, I told my parents and they were like, "Awesome! let's go up and look at housing..... I mean getting an interview means your in right?" .....silly parents

I'm so football deprived. I can't decide what I'm going to watch... prob. t.u. vs Ohio State but other than that... any suggestions?

Ummmmmm................PENN STATE/NOTRE DAME !!!!!! 😀

congrats! 😎 when are you interviewing?

Thanks man. I haven't scheduled yet because I got the email past hours, but it's sometime during the weeks of sept 25 - oct 6

i can't believe this stats course is at the graduate level. i took math courses in high school that were way more in depth. what a waste of time--i could be sleeping--lol

most stuff in med school isnt that hard nik, its the volume of it and the short time you have to learn it all that makes it all hard. everyone realizes this after they start, you just got a sneak peak for next year. 😀

good morning randomites--wakey wakey

morning nik! i've actually been up for like an hour, i downloaded the torrent of the House season premier last night and watched it now. this weekend is gonna be busy, i'm picking up the moving truck i rented at 230 and will be loading furniture into it later today. tomorrow i will finally have real furniture in my apt! i've been sleeping on an air mattress since august 9th when i moved in.

Ummmmmm................PENN STATE/NOTRE DAME !!!!!! 😀

 is that on a major network? I'll watch it if it is...

and about NYU, you're going to do great. They picked you because you saw something amazing in your application that they thought went well with their school. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise :luck:

hey Fe! man, are you trying to keep your post count down? you could have made that into 4 posts, EASY. those damn multiquotes are gonna cut down on the post whoring - we cant have that. :meanie:

Stats in general are not that hard - it's basic math. Derivation of statistics is harder since it involves higher math skills, but what we need to know is pretty easy.

I've taken about 5 stats courses over my bachelor's, master's, and doctoral studies, and the hardest thing out of those was learning the basis for ANOVAs and maybe regressions (doing them is easy - finding out where the formulas came from is a little harder).

Relish the "easiness"!

oh i forgot you still had to move the rest of your stuff! omg you'll have a real bed! that will be nice. i totally missed the House premiere🙁 🙁 good luck with the moving--you should see me drive a u-haul----scary.

well yeah i took a pretty good stats class in undergrad and i really tried my hardest to get a waiver for this stupid class i'm taking now. oh well--it's not bad--it got me up and i've been studying molecular bio stuff the whole time i've been sitting there

I think that game is national coverage on nbc. It's a hot ticket, highest average ticket price in ND history (I think around $860) 😱

I agree about NYU. I was almost sure that I wouldn't get an interview based on my MCAT alone, but there must have been something they liked a lot to make up for that. I'm really excited for all of my interviews because right now i have a preference, but I know that preference will change after interviews. How many have you been to so far?

no i don't think it's super hard so far--i understand most of it--just hard to memorize

But it's so easy....and so tempting:laugh: Any true postwhore would never use it but lately I find it just too convenient.

3 so far: UTMB, UT-H and Vandy. I love Vandy right now (don't love the price-tag) I think UT-H is more in my price range (plus they might actually admit me) so it's my realistic choice right now.

wow that's awesome. Keep up the good work:luck:

A friend of my girlfriend's started Vandy this year - she absolutely loves it.

I have my first at PSU this wednesday, then it's about 1 per week until mid October :scared: I think the order will be PSU, NYU, Jefferson, Maryland, NYMC
Whoo hoo  Look at all those interviews!!

Please don't make one of those "Why school should I go to because I've gotten full rides at these 4". I know that's going to be you because you're going to rock those interviews but those are annoying 😀

What are all those new buttons under our post count?

Hey peeps! What are all of these new buttons under our avatars? I don't know what half of that stuff is! Oh well.

I have a ton of studying to do but am practicing procrastination (is that a marketable skill?) It is a gorgeous day here and hubby is out mowing the lawn. Perhaps I should actually do the cleaning I keep saying that I will do??? ugh. Have I mentioned how much I HATE cleaning?

Awww - don't clean. Come hang out with me and we'll watch college football together!

Type A.....totally hate cleaning too......it's such a nice day but I just can't get out of bed and hubby is telling me to get up already so we can do something outdoor-sy 😀

Ya know...we really should go down to the river. We bought this house that is like steps from the river and have been down there ONCE! After Ernesto, I am sure the water level is super high...that would be awesome to see. I told hubby that I wanted to do that today. But, it is almost 12 and I am still in bed.

Alright kiddos need to get up and get ready.

Hope you guys have a nice day!
