He's an American Eskimo. Find a breeder. Beware they like to eat all sorts of things as puppies if you don't watch them constantly and crate them when you are gone. And, as adults, you still can't trust them. Last night when my boyfriend got an iPod I warned him he'd have to keep it away from Bear. About an hour later he heard a thump and went into the office to see what it was. He found an innocent looking dog and a slobbery iPod on the floor. Luckily, it had not been chewed yet.

BTW, I saw the new Scorcese film "The Departed" yesterday while killing time for a flight and it was the best movie I have seen in awhile. Especially for people who know the boston area well.

I saw it on opening night and was completely shocked by the ending. Definitely one of the best flicks I have seen in the past 5 years, if not longer.

How about them Wolverines! Ranked #3 in the BCS...which means they'll lose the next game. 3's a bad number for the big blue.

Hey Beary!!!!

How is the residency going?

What s with the red jerseys? Thought you supported Iowa!

Hey quant!! It's going ok, thanks! How are things going for you?

I do like Iowa, but my true loyalty is with the Huskers (I'm from Nebraska).

Nebraska >>>> Iowa >> Michigan>>>>>>>> everybody else >>>>>>> Florida schools >> Ohio St. >> ND. 😀

They do. Lions are horrible. Of course, it doesn't help that we hurt your top 2 QB's in that game.

Well, looks like the Wolverines are gonna be the clear #2 and Nov. 18th is basically gonna be the national championship game when OSU faces off against Michigan.

The Michigan camp seems pretty optimistic about its chances...I, however, think that the Blue is gonna get their asses kicked by the F-uckeyes. Why? Cuz Michigan hasn't faced an offense like OSU's offense (granted, Troy Smith can not only run but he can actually throw the ball confidently...which is bad for us). Plus, we're playing OSU in their house.

The only chance we have to win is if we can hurt Troy Smith and get him out of the game in the first quarter. Then they'll have to bring in the ******ed pitiful excuse for a quarterback, Justin Zwick, who is not really in any position to do anything against the Michigan defense.

The Michigan defense has seriously put a hurtin' on the first and second PSU quarterbacks, they almost blew out Stanton's knee during the MSU game, they broke Drew Tate's thumb during the Iowa game, and they sprained the knee of Bacher during the Northwestern game.

Reluctantly I have to agree.....

The only thing which will win the championship for Wolverines is the defense, Mike Hart and playing dirty....:meanie: :meanie:

Our QB s are up and around now. It looks like we ll be going to play some ******ed bowl anyway....

Next year my man, next year.....Once you hit a peak, like the wolverines seem to have, there is only one way to go....:meanie: :meanie: :meanie: :meanie:

On here! The election is everywhere else 😉

There is no way anybody in my class is going to get anywhere close to 50 autopsies this year. I am not particularly bothered by this, but maybe I should be.

Maybe this is too pathology related to go in the random thread. 🙂

Oh yeah, that's right...you do all your autopsy months during your PGY1 year, right?

Are many of the autopsies performed solo? Or is it customary for people to double-up on autopsies to increase their numbers?

Yeah, we do all our autopsy months during PGY1.

So far it seems customary for people to do them solo. I think we are only allowed to double up on 10.

Where does that 10 keep coming from? It is not ABP rules (as somepeople at my program thought). I ask because all the residents at my program thought that too, then people looked into in and we couldn't find any rule regarding 10 secondary prosector autopsy rule...

Is that your program or is that ABP rumor there too?

Hmm... I don't know. There is a sign up in the morgue that says only 10 can be trauma, and only 10 can be joint. I don't know what the source of that is.

I think they are going to have to do something about it - we have 7 residents this year, so would need close to 350 for us each to get 50. Currently for 2006 we are at 170something. So nowhere close.

I investigated this issue earlier in the year and found the source. On the ACGME website, the most recent pathology newsletter (June 2004) states that "Residents must be the primary prosector on 40 complete autopsies. They may report participation as a supervising or assisting resident on other cases only when they are involved in each of the aspects above." (The aspects being chart review, external exam, dissection, micro, and writing the report.)

Big game tomorrow.

May Michigan break Troy Smith's thumb and win this one for Bo!

RIP Bo.

Yeah I'm not sure what to think about this game. Definitely big, but there is a strong possibility it seems that the two will play again in january for the national title. I think the only way out of that is if USC wins really big vs Cal and ND (which is likely) and Florida runs the table. Even then, Michigan/OSU loser would have a one loss which is more impressive than either of them.

I don't think that's gonna happen unfortunately. But this year's been interesting with WV losing to Louisville and then Louisville losing to Rutgers...so what happens if Rutgers loses to WV...no big east representation in the BCS title game.

USC gets knocked out of the picture if they lose to Cal. But then if USC comes and beats Notre Dame, then Notre Dame is out of the picture.

See where I'm going? The only way Michigan and OSU play in a rematch for the national championship is if all the one loss teams get another loss and Rutgers loses one game (now that would be laughable if Rutgers made it to the BCS title game...but that ain't gonna happen...because...)

Now, if Florida had lost last week vs. South Carolina, that would have been good. But they squeaked one out. The winner of the SEC title game (likely Arkansas or Florida) will have one loss. It's that team that goes to the BCS title game.

It's interesting regarding the actual possibility of a Michigan/OSU rematch in January though. Some folks have said that if Michigan loses a close battle they may not drop since this is an away game. But doesn't that sound ridiculous that a team who loses doesn't drop even a single spot in the polls? Other folks have said that if Michigan wins, OSU only will drop one spot to #2 and then we have a rematch. Now, why would this happen? OSU loses to a rival AT HOME and only drops one spot? Doesn't make sense.

My prediction: Michigan 17, OSU 41 (Troy Smith just lights up the scoreboard by exploiting Michigan's less than spectacular secondary).

Sometimes the truth and reality hurts...I'm not very optimistic about this game although this has been a great year for the Big Blue after their horrendous season last year.

Not quite AndyM. :meanie: Was a total heartbreaker.

(I made some money though, bet for Mich with the line at OSU -7).

I think the NC game will and should be a rematch. Hopefully USC loses tonight and UF loses to Arkansas - then there shouldn't be much of a controversy. I just don't see how ND can be in the picture with the whooping Mich gave them in South Bend.

I think at a neutral site like a bowl game, Michigan would have won tonight's game. Selfishly I would love to see Nebraska beat Texas for the Big 12 Championship and have them play Michigan in a BCS bowl, but Michigan would kill them.

It was an absolutely amazing game. Close..too damn close!

Would love to have seen how that game would have played out without that stupid late hit on 3rd down. I also couldn't believe how UM gave up so many big plays - seemed like 5-6 plays of >40 yards.

That was such a bad penalty.

It was a bloody stupid penalty, that's what it was. The flag should've been thrown and Crable shouldn't have gone helmet to helmet. Damn I was so mad when it happened.

And what the hell was up with giving up not one but TWO long running TDs?

wow...this thread better get moved to the commoner forums quickly

No way!!!

This thread "of the pathologists, by the pathologists and for the pathologists, shall not perish from this forum...."

With apologies to Abraham Lincoln..🙂 🙂
