sadly, this woman never met a good man in her life. Tragedy for her and tragedy for the capitalist society, where everything could be up for sale.
Something tells me Trimspa was the least of her problems.
Not being an dingus. Someone who has a young baby and OD's is obviously not putting her child as a priority. Her kid is probably better off without a drugged-out mom.

Who wants to bet it's drugs?
Or maybe it was her diet?
Or Trimspa baby?
Sorry, but I beat you to the Trimspa joke on another thread:

Perhaps you are confusing the medical profession with something else, because from what I understand the quality of a physician is not in telling morbidly disgusting jokes but in being empathetic. I guess not everybody shares your unique sense of humor. If you don't understand humor you probably shouldn't be a physician either.
Hey, if I don't someone else will.....what?! tshirts already?!!
I guess not everybody shares your unique sense of humor.
Because Spreadshirt doesn't offer a cow emblem. Why is it an upside down elephant?

Yes, but most doctors (at least in critical care, surgery, anesthesia and any of the other challenging specialties) tend to share his sense of humor, so it's not unique.
She shocked people by marrying 89-year-old Texas oil magnate Howard Marshall II, who had an estate valued at $1.6 billion. He died the next year, and Smith waged a 12-year feud with Marshall's son, E. Pierce Marshall, over the inheritance. "

But I thought we were supposed to empathize and be tormented by our patients' situations.....DKM, you forgot that doctors are supposed to be cold, humorless robots that don't understand the common man since the common man is inferior to the physician.
By the way, I've sold five of those shirts so far......so apparently more people on this forum are like us than some people would like to believe.
SHUT UP! I AM NOT!Perhaps you're a bit more soft and gooey than you let on?...
SHUT UP! I AM NOT!
No, it was my idea.....I've never had a mod comment on my avatar.
It is sad, regardless of what kind of woman she was, especially since she left a very small baby behind, and because her death is so close to her son's.
Hey Law2Doc! Would this be slander or libel?Awwww, you're just a big old snuggly ball of love, aren't ya?
We all know the truth.

Sorry, but I also thought your joke was crude and insensitive, not b/c it was a joke but b/c it was plain disgusting. A woman died and you're singing "ding dong the witch is dead?" It wasn't funny or humorous, just insulting.
Yes, but for most doctors, the "gallows humor" is a coping mechanism.Yes, but most doctors (at least in critical care, surgery, anesthesia and any of the other challenging specialties) tend to share his sense of humor, so it's not unique.
How is this thread not lounge, by the way? Just curious...
There's a lounge????
Haha, eh, I venture between the pre-allo and allo forums (primarily pre-allo), so naturally I post this non-med related story where I venture most often...
But now that you mention it, it'll prolly be moved...
I love the premed forum..... "If you need me, I'll be on the porch because I see you are already on the cross."yeah its one of lowest links on the sdn forums page....the people there are usuaully a bit less uptight than the people here in the virgin vault.
what will bitching do about it?
As sad as I am to hear that a younger woman with a child has died, I'm glad I won't have to hear about her on the news any more....
How did she achieve celebrity status???
Absolutely nothing, which is why I didn't mention it when I first read it, but since someone else said something and you tried to shout him/her down by implying they have no sense of humor, I felt the need to let it be known that person wasn't the only one who was offended by your "sense of humor."

P.S. anyone who thought that dropkick or quantum was insensitive, please don't go to the lounge. You will literally die of shock at the content in there.
You're going into medicine?
hmm..i wouldnt mind obscene jokes if they were tasteful and funny. i do remember when i was shadowing once in the OR, they were talking about the movie along came polly while they were operating away. Also wasnt there some thread a day ago which talked about gallows humor? You'd be surprised by the amount of obscene jokes that go on in an operating room. Thats not to say that physicians arent anymore emphathetic, but every profession has to joke about somethign to keep it interesting, who knows, dont hang me
