Oh I definitely get it, too, because it does feel good to know someone looks to you as an authority on something. I've been asked for advice just the same, I just usually answer with "I suggest you go to your veterinarian for a workup." I think if this person wasn't the "I could probably pass the NAVLE now if they'd let me take it" type I would care a little less![]()
Yeah. And when it's bad advice it just makes you grimace. 🙁
I still almost always tell people to go their vet. 1) They're usually asking about things I know nothing about, like their dog's ear issue, and 2) If you want my opinion, come pay my $122 exam fee and do the diagnostic work-up I recommend. I don't give that stuff away for free except for close friends and family members. 3) I don't play the "Internet Diagnosis" game.
