Facts!!!! At my school it was well known that the TTP (theater tech production) people threw the wildest parties and can confirm. When i joined a social sorority junior year frat parties has nothing on them lol

Also in retrospect idk how i was fine drinking jungle juice out of a storage bin and now i side eye people coughing without a mask lol

(my #1 fear is someone thinking the same about me but then i remember i keep my mouth shut and i’m nice to people so the most they can mock me for is trying to grow my account to help pay my loans 🤪🤪🤪)

**** em. I dare someone to try to tell me my writing is AI if i use an em dash, colon, etc.

Just because some people are actually literate and know how grammar works doesnt mean it’s AI. pisses me off sooooo much

i’ve noticed i often find it hard to identify something written by AI because a lot of the time it writes like I write (em dashes included)😭😭 i don’t know how to change my writing and still sound professional, so i just haven’t 🤷‍♀️

The woman who was murdered in Minneapolis could have been my doppelganger. My age, my race, mom of 3, doing what I would have done in that situation. My kids' Spanish immersion daycare has parent volunteers manning the parking lots at all times on look out. The staff are asking for parent volunteers to drive them to work because they feel unsafe. One of the maintenance workers there, on a valid work permit, with no criminal history, was abducted from Home Depot last night, his wife is one of the teachers.

Driving my kids home yesterday, my 4 year old son told me he was glad the strangers didn't come and steal anyone today. Cue me trying to hold it together and explain that he is safe and he will be safe at school and his parents and his teachers will keep him safe.

The world is not okay and yet I still have to drive to work everyday. Keep it positive. Treat my patients. Pretend everything is fine.

Update to this, they took his teacher last night. A woman who works with preschoolers, here on a valid work visa, that has been thoroughly background checked. You know, a super dangerous criminal.

By direct request, the spouse and I are walking over to the preschool a few blocks away from us tomorrow morning to offer to be morning watch. They're starting as early as 6:30 am and have been sitting outside, heavily armed, trying to intimidate *checks hand* 1-6 year olds.

Is she still missing? What I don't understand is why the people with visas (or even full citizenship) are either being detained as long as they are or are not coming back from what I've read.

She probably had her visa on her person right? If so, why even take her? A simple 'ok cool this checks out' would be appropriate

I can’t even begin to tell you how much they do not care right now. They detain people in the morning and they can be in a different state by the afternoon. It’s very hard to get legal resources to someone whose location isn’t static. Pending asylum case, work visa, student visa, green card, naturalized citizen, doesn’t matter.

Again, surely we will be seeing the biggest civil rights lawsuit of all time at some point...although that may mean nothing to those who are here on a visa

i don't know you, but i know enough to know you are nothing like this girl. if you're in that same sphere online, i wonder if you have come across her lol, i can dm you the username.

also i just wrote a post elaborating on her whole deal but then i realized she's probably on this site so i'm gonna keep it nice and vague. she was really condescending and competitive to me about getting into school, and had that typical cattiness you can see working in clinics, but now i'm in school and she's not teehee

Youngest cancer patient I've had was 5 months with suspected lymphoma and the owners reaction definitely haunts me.

I also personally had a 3 month old puppy with oral scc while I was in school.
 
so tired of opening emails and seeing the “unfortunately you were not chosen” for the third year in a row. I’ve decided I won’t be applying again because I don’t think I can continue to take rejection after rejection for another year. a few schools left to hear from and waitlisted at another, but dang I wish I could hear some good news at some point.

It won't matter to those lost to other countries from which they never came, or if they're dead/disappeared. It also won't matter that much to those living with long term trauma from what is happening in these facilities. I could not be more ashamed of this place.

I think one of my worst cases was an 8 month old golden or lab (can't remember now). Super sweet dog, fantastic owners. She came in through ER for further workup of inappetence and a high white cell count....her spleen was swiss cheese on AFAST and she had super angry effusion. Owners were all in but she tanked so fast that she barely made it through my shift, they ended up euthanizing at like 2am. Damn lymphoma.
 
I have a workplace bullying situation and I am just so ****ing sick of it. I have been out for a couple days with bad cellulitis in my dominant hand/arm. I am struggling with my brother’s cat who I have custody of. She bites and scratches sometimes and I am immunocompromised. My coworker was so upset at me for taking the sick days and took it out on me with the maturity of a 12 year old by saying mean things about me to another staff member with me within earshot. She is very burnt out and desperately wants to quit but that is no reason to be mean to people! I also just feel really frustrated because I have uncontrolled severe pain and nausea and my fuse is just generally shorter today as a result.

It’s not your fault your workplace doesn’t have the staffing / infrastructure to account for people being sick. Sick people should not go into work. I’m sorry your coworker is frustrated with the wrong person, that really sucks.

Nooo 🙁 Maybe time for a home camera (if feasible/if you don't have one already) to make sure they're not having more when you're not around? (thoughts from another pet parent brain lol)

Me and my damn bird. First time i chalked it up to me being over dramatic (since i didnt observe the actual seizure). Second time got a video and was confirmed seizure by my vet. Just operating on the assumption that seizures are a part of his life now, since i saw the after effects 2 days in a row, then another suspected one a few weeks later, so now he is on anticonvulsants 🙃
