It's great. I have not felt this awake and alert in a long time. Too bad it's so late. Oh well, getting some good studying in finally. And I don't feel as lost anymore (always a good thing).

thanks! Dont worry, I know what the delay is...you applied to what some would call "highly competative" programs...u know the ones that dont send out invites until AFTER Nov. 1st. 😀

probably the osteomalacia that comes from never going out into the sun and drinking only coffee as a source of calcium.
 
btw CJ - I am soo jealous of your interview invite... my inbox remains empty... well it is full of junk mail, but i don't really count those

****ake mushrooms! How are you supposed to know whether a program is competitive or not? I wanted to apply to some safeties, but which ones? Now I won't match! :scared:

I'm tempted to wait another week or two, and if i still dont have any interviews, i'll just apply to another 5-10 programs...

solid plan...its pretty hard to tell how competative a program is...i have heard using Emramatch.org and checking for number of DOs/FMGs is an indicator, not sure how true that is

I promised myself I would starting going to the gym and getting healthy again... starting next month of course.
 
I hate school politics and how you have to get excused absences. And when you do it too early, they forget you do it. Then they have a problem with your dates because you planned ahead before having a full schedule. 😡 :beat::bullcrap:+pissed++pity+
 
Moral of the story: never plan ahead.
 
CHILL guys. Most of the invites won't be sent out until october/nov. It's still early. As you guys can see, only a handful of places have offered invites out of more than 100 programs. My program hasn't sent anything out yet...and won't for a few more weeks.

Here's my theory, buisness is a little slow this time of year, so they just want to watch a bunch of fourth years come in with perffed ulcers to get things rolling... i mean we need to keep those SICU beds full!

not much...research, some voluntary ED shifts, and a BS job
 
At least you shouldn't have a problem getting away for interviews then.

Primary care starting next week... yuck... clinic time :S at least we have some EM time in our schedule... when you finally figure out you want to do EM, it's hard to do anything else!!!
 
Very slowly. Definitely getting burned out. Taking more breaks...getting more sleep. At least I'm not making myself get sick anymore.
