The guy in second is number 8. Man I miss that stuff. Used to race... Maybe I'll get back into it if I get this better paying job.... 😀

OK... I have been goofing off on SDN for a while now, and yet STILL have no idea what this "rearview mirror" thread is that seems so popular. Can somebody give me the history?

Oddly not stressed. Kind of scares me.

I think I just passed the stress point to the get this over with point. Not that I know anything, just ready for a break.

I can't believe I am bumping this....

hope everyone had fun at ACEP

now u can get back to the regulary scheduled reviewing of our apps

i'll be at the bar this weekend...for old times sake

It was fun, though, and the residency fair was dope. I felt like I got a good sense of the personalities at different programs. Even more excited about interviews, now <sigh>

So, I guess, what would you all do? Take a higher paying position for a few months and make some desparately need money, or stay at the hospital and hope for a few meager paying shifts a week, enough to pay app fees and the rest of the bills? Even though I'm getting better experiences for med school in the hospital....

who cares about the hospital? You will spend the majority of the rest of your life in the hospital. You don't need more experience and med schools won't care. I would dump the hospital altogether (with decent notice of course) and take the engineering job IF the company was ok with someone who would be gone frequently for interviews and then quit after less than a year. To me, that is the biggest problem...

0/0/20 here +pity+

Your time will come...eventually. I would be super excited to have no rejections still if I were you. I'm thinking no automatic rejections is a good thing.

have you decided what kind of personality you are like looking for?

I agree completely with this! (I normally agree with everything she says anyway so it's no big suprise 😉)

The thoughts expressed by h24g were exactly what I was thinking, but I figured I was being swayed because of all the debt I see right now and how the extra money would be nice.

Oh wow...I should quit posting as much. I have a rediculously large amount of posts considering how much I should be studying. SDN has officially taken the place of my bf while he is living so far away.

Only one more exam, then I am off for the weekend

Just woke up and now I'm ready to burn through some notes and stay up until the exam is over.

And here I thought axes weren't really used anymore...at least not in a city and not on people...

A 35-year-old man is accused of striking a woman, then smashing a wall with an ax during a domestic disturbance in....

Joseph Learveal Stauch III appeared in court today on misdemeanor charges of domestic battery and criminal damage. The charges are related to an incident about 7 p.m. Wednesday ....in the Fox Run Apartments.

Authorities accuse Stauch of hitting the woman with his fists and then swinging an ax. The ax struck a wall, damaging wallboard and a door jamb.

Maybe we should set a new goal: how about passing the allopathic thread?

good point, though it's still early 😀

Well, assuming I get some love from the engineering company, I think I'm gonna take it. Its a contract position, so no telling how long they would even use me. Ill be volunteering with the ski patrol this winter, so that will still be some "medical stuff" until at least march, plus, I'll be getting paid twice as much. And I'll have evenings and weekends off. But I'll have to wait and see. I havent heard back from the guy yet.

I think we have been on the same two pages (7-8) all week.

Since Sunday at least. Thats no way to surpass the allo forum. We are gonna need some serious post padding to do that. Maybe shoot for the Osteo forum first.

😴 I think im about to hit the sack too. Some padding to come tomorrow. Hopefully. 🙂 Night all!

yeah, mine. Happy and energetic 😀

that's exactly what I'm looking for... we really should chat more about our programs 😉 i think we would have a blast together...

Oh, absolutely! I actually met some residents from NY Presby (your away, right?) at ACEP and they were so fun! Great sense of humor. We laughed and laughed

I got an interview! 😀:hardy:😍

The 2nd of these post padding threads was entitles "Path is in our rearview mirror".

As amazing as it might seem they once had a lead in the number of posts.. we padded the daylights out of that thread and managed to close it at 10K posts.. therefore the name. all future post padding threads have kindly incorporated this as well.

I found the link to the original 2 threads..

#1 Path's lead is shrinking... (over 10K posts)

http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=241557&highlight=path+is+in+our+rear

#2 Path is in our rearview mirror (it is called part 01 cause the thread was too long so they shut it down and re-opened it) there is the history for you...

Please note the person who started both of those threads! 🙂

pride here I see. You should keep padding it up!

I guess we were ships passing in the night 🙁

I insist on claiming the new page before I go! 😡

Enough of this lollygagging, really we should be ashamed at our pace, here, people....
