Hey ... So I am a Canadian student who happens to study in a non-Canadian dental school. I am almost done my second year of my dent school and I will be writing my NBDE part 1 the coming Feburary (2018). I was wondering about research opportunities because I would love to get into an OMFS program after graduating my GPA is 3.6 but my school is tough so my ranking is 9 (250 students in my year) and I will be doing my CBSE third year. However, OMFS is very competitive and I know just one year of internship added to my resume won't be enough. So, I was thinking of doing research starting this summer. The issue is I am so out of the research world and especially back home in Canada. If anyone in Canada who has done research can help me out:
1- What did you do to get a research position?
2- How many have you done so far and where?
3- Is it possible for me to get one knowing that I am enrolled in a non-Canadian dental school?
on the OMFS part
1- What would be a good score to accompany what I have told you so far?
2- USA vs Canada would be more likely to accept me (realistic )?
