Correct! I must've forgotten to mention the surgery part. I hear residency positions for this specialty have been reduced to 50% of what they used to be. I've got my work cut out for me!

I volunteered in inpatient medicine and the hospitalists always looked overworked and miserable. And from what I gather from browsing the practicing physician forums, hospital medicine is a terrible field to go into.

So IM is out for me, unless it's outpatient.

I think emergency medicine would best fit my lifestyle. Or maybe family medicine.

I like the fast-paced nature of EM, but there's not much patient follow-up.

1. I'm into medical school. Statistically 90% or something of freshmen pre-meds will never be.
2. I voted for Other, because I have no idea given my limited clinical experience, which is the entire point.
