I have been following this thread the entire time, but have never posted before...actually just registered...

i was in this same position last year, and find myself being screwed by RFU again this year.

i have a question for those of you that received the email about the unranked waitlist...was this in response to you asking for a status update or did they just send this to you without you requesting more information about your file?
 
I called them today and all they said was that no action has been taken on my app as of yet.

What was the story last year?

I have been asking for status checks every few weeks or so, this last email was my latest response.
 
I requested a status check, and just got the waitlist email.

Were you waitlisted last year by RFU?

If so, I guess this dispells the myth that everyone was accepted off of the waitlist last year...
 
I am thinking more and more that the WL and the No Action List are the same thing...
 
ok so last year i was on the "unranked waitlist" which was the term they used twice. first before they developed an actual waitlist, and then i was kept on this list after the development of an actual ranked list. they ranked the list based on top third, middle third, and bottom third. i was in the unranked list that fell bellow the bottom third of the real list.

at one point during the summer, enough people had been pulled off the real list, that people were drawn off of the unranked list onto the real list.

i emailed them this morning asking for a status update, but haven't heard back. its a lot harder to get any real information now that victor is gone from the office.

i have NO IDEA where they stand in terms of forming a waitlist, and i feel that this unranked list that they're pushing everyone into is that same BS pool that they will then draw a real waitlist from. unless they have changed their policies this year
 
A non ranked waitlist has to be better than hearing nothing...I talked to Lolita too and at least she refers to you by name after you give her your amcas number...Its not just RFU, none of these schools are very good at communicating with their applicants.

Wow that is insane, just adds more drama to this. When did they form a ranked wait list last year?

True. I just wish every school had an amazing online status checker so we could at least have some more consistency 😉
 
that's whats really upsetting me and confusing me about this year is that they had already formed a real waitlist by this time...

lolita is really nice, but Victor was much more honest and forthcoming about where the committee stands.

as of last month when i spoke to lolita, she had told me that acceptances and waitlist notifications would be sent through snail mail, which makes me wonder about these emails. i have a feeling that those of us who haven't heard anything from them one way or another are in the same pool "unranked waitlist" as those that have been notified in response to their status queries.

but then again, i have been lied to by many admissions offices both last year and this year, so your guesses are as good as mine.
 
I tried calling again just now to get a hold of them to "clarify" what the hell is going on, but I got the message. I can't believe how fast they close up shop.
 
Everyone, make sure you update the the waitlist list we have going around. For me, it lets me know where I stand more than anything.
 
which number did you try?
sometimes the 3204 number doesn't work and you have to try 3206 or 3207...

sometimes they just don't answer the phone lol

Hey guys I just called and got a hold of them. Apparently they are sending out everything acceptance, rejects, waitlist, But i have not recieved anything so I asked them to email me my status. This means acceptance or reject. I hope acceptance. So i guess they are mailing A and R via snail mail and Waitlist via email. This is just the impressions from the phone call. Morgandi will be emailing me my status shortly (yeah right). Let me know if anyone finds out anything new.

hey, if you receive a response from her today, let me know because i'm still waiting on one as well....goodluck though.

they've been saying that they've been sending rejections throughout the entire process, and i know that a few people have received rejections, but for those of us that are still in the pool, if the trend follows from last year, we may not receive a final rejection until August
 
Well, I've done all I can today. I've called Lolita, I've emailed the admission office asking to clarify my status, I've called Morgandi and left a message....there's not much else I can do today. All I know is I have neither an email or a snail mail in hand.
 
Does anyone know Morgandi Lashley's email address??
 
i assumed she just responded to the general admission's office emails...but the real question is if someone knows how to directly contact Maryann DeCaire.

Yeah, she is still the director of admission. Her contact info is on the website somewhere.

I believe Dean Ross still signs the letters? Not sure though...

The class has been full for a while. But there's so much movement from people rejecting acceptances, and acceptances going out to the next person.

But since may 15 was the last day to drop all but one acceptance would there still be any movement on the waitlist. Unless I suppose if someone who has been accepted decides not to go to medical shool at all.

Well, someone might get off of two waitlists and have to make a decision. Or, they might have an acceptance already, but then suddenly they have another off of a waitlist.

I'm about ready to give up any hope of getting in this year. Maybe this year just wasn't meant to be the year for me to begin med 🙁. But, at least I can now focus on next cycle's application. Wish you all the best of luck :luck:.

Just here to say how impressed I am with all y'all hanging in there. The level of commitment on this thread is amazing. I would be honored to have any one of you as colleagues and I (as well as a lot of SDN) have my fingers crossed for you guys. Especially you DVN.
