Anybody figure out when the next meeting is? Hopefully tomorrow.

How do you guys get ahold of people at RFU? Ive called at least twenty times and never gotten an answer.

Suffice to say, I was very impressed with RFU and the people when I interviewed.
 
This thread Rocks, I think that what we should call it when we hit our limit of the 10 pages. And i think you guys will make the RFU class awesome. top ten schools can kiss me Ass

are you calling the right number and during their office hours...because everytime i call, they always answer.

when we call them we should send the AMCAS # of all the people who posts on this thread. maybe by seeing the dedication and the interest in RFU...they might let us in.
 
Yeah, it would be nice if my dedication would pay off at some point

When did you interview? Also, I was under the impression that they met on Fridays....atleast that's what I've read in this forum.

it's the effects of global warming....summer ends....fall starts...late fall you get dumped with snow then winter starts out out very mild and then out of nowhere...it gets very cold in January and it warms up a little and stays cold but not bitter cold and then it warms up out of nowhere and then you break the record high and then it gets cold again and then you have snow in April.

or we could just blame Canada.

We should send a live feed of this snow to everyone who applied to RFU and hope they w/draw their acceptances...

Usually the meetings are on Friday from what I hear, but maybe Good Friday pushed it to early this week.

I called Admissions today and asked them if they have made a decision on my application. She said that no action has been made and my app. has been put up for the next time the committee meets. So, I was thinking, well maybe they haven't met for April yet and so I asked. She said that they have. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? How many more months do I have to put up with this ****?
 
its funny when i called yesterday, she (diff woman) said they hadnt. i love the system. :laugh:

I just called, it looks like they got rid of the annoying automated menu. I spoke to the secretary and she said their AAMC database was down for the day. Drats and double drats!!! Fortunately, I will get an update tomorrow morning from her. Best of luck to the rest of you.
 
Doctornick....did she say if they met this month?
 
Well, if you had called yesterday, maybe they met today. OR, with all this put together and their "system" down, maybe NO ONE knows about anything. Maybe she didn't know? Maybe she just didn't know what I was asking? Maybe I'm going crazy here?
 
i just realized that the last time someone got accepted and posted on the wall of acceptance for RFU was in Feb....so no one on SDN got accepted in March and April (so far anways)
 
That's odd. Does that mean the class is full and we are all on a pseudo waitlist?
 
I was told they were gonna meet later this month.

either that or no one on SDN has been accepted. There could have been other acceptances but there's no way to figure out.
which makes me think...AAMC should require the school to post on their website after each meeting...how many apps were reviewed, how many were rejected/waitlisted/accepted....

if the snow in April doesn't change their mind, this will definetly work.
 
The class is full, I was told that at my interview. They have at least 185 acceptances as of now. However they mentioned that there is a huge turn over. Plus Im pretty sure they over accept before they even get to the waitlist so theres still acceptances to be had.

Wait.....ok, the class is 185 in size, but they over accept because they know people are going to choose another school? Also, what do you mean by a huge turn over? That those students that get interviewed get in?

No turnover meaning that many decide not to go, so there is movement on the waitlist.
 
in fact the dean mentioned something about 3x as many acceptances.

Wow, that's quite a bit. I'm just nervous because they haven't done anything with my application. A friend of mine had an interview the same day and he got accepted two weeks later....like Feb. 14 or so. Two months later....two months! Nothing. Does that mean I'm in the "we're not sure what to do with this guy....let's put him back in the pile" list? Ugh, I'm so frustrated with life right now........

i can definitely understand where your coming from, this process is draining.

Try not to worry too much. When I called back in November before my interview, I was told that very few applicants are accepted at the meeting right after their interview. The majority of decisions are made sometime in the late spring. Given that so many people on SDN are waiting to hear something and no SDNers have been accepted since February, I think they are still sitting on many applications.

Tell me about it. I'm already trying to come up with contingency plans. Work for Americorp, studying for the MCAT as of last week, etc. I don't wanna sound whinny, but honestly, CMS is my only real option at this point.
 
I wouldn't say that there haven't been any SDNers that have been accepted since February; if you look back a few pages on this thread some people received notices in mid-March (from March interviews). Honestly, I gave up a long time ago trying to rationalize how exactly RFU goes about accepting its applicants.
 
Should I be sending the school a letter of intent or emailing my interviewers? My student interviewer told me he disliked it when people emailed him, so I think that one is out, but I did email back and forth a bit with my faculty interviewer (I found out after the interview that she's the CFO of the school). Anyway, just trying to think of stuff that might me look better......
 
has dr.vannostran accepted yet at RFU? Whats taking them so long...If they dont take DVN something is definitely wrong with the school. 😀
 
DVN, if I had two acceptances, I would give you one! Unfortunately, as you might know, I'm in the same boat as you....

hey all, just wanted to let you know another spot is opening up...i withdrew from rfu (i got into uic). good luck to all of you still waiting!
 
oh and id totally be down for a study group...since i'll officially know ZERO people at the school...i dont wanna be lonely 🙁

Also, shouldn't we only be on the CMS 2011 forum if we're actually in the school? If you're trying to think positive, I'm in. But I just don't want to be stupidly cocky....ya know?
