So then they met either on Good Friday or just the monday or tuesday after. I guess I have alot more waiting to go. I hope maybe there is another at the end of the month.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hahaha, Jccripe, you and me both. BTW, do you know how many slots they have for the BMS program?

I think the BMS program is 100 spots but I have no idea how many have been accepted or how many are left. Post if you know.

so they met [according to previous post]... and the waiting goes on. i guess i should get my bms app ready.

sending in my BMS application as of monday. Yay!

I will be sending in my BMS application this week as well. Hopefully they will see our commitment towards cms

Guys, I don't want this to seem like a bragfest because it is not. This process is so dissapointing. I had not gotten in anywhere, and on April 12th I got a letter from Rosalind Frankin. It was dated the 10th. My heart basically stopped. I sobbed really hard, my first acceptance. I interviewed in Feb. so I thought I was done for. There is a lot of time left and come May 15th, there will be a lot of spots open. Those spots are yours!!

It's really easy to give up hope... don't give up! :luck:

congratulations....hopefully, we'll be classmates.

if your stats are good and your interviewer says they will highly recommend you, why am I not accepted. I dont get this process, it sucks HUGE

there are lot of things about this process that don't follow logic...hang in there (atleast...that's what I say to myself when I get really depressed and frusturated)

Has anyone gotten rejected after their interview?

Guys, I know we keep saying there's still time left, but I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooo depressed right now. I too interviewed in Feb, but nothing. I'm gonna cry......

P.S. Atleast I haven't been rejected yet.....

I feel the same way....I also interviewed in Feb, and no news yet. it is very depressing.

I interviewed in October, so just be happy that the wait cannot be that much longer.

I hate people that sit back and collect acceptances like hot-wheels. I cant wait for may 15 I hope they send out tons of acceptances before june!

Here, here. 👎

I know how you feel 🙁

Hopefully all 185 who were accepted are jerks and holding on to acceptances...:luck:

Cmon Rosalind...

Why dont they ever pick up the phone? I guess were waiting another month fellas...

I figured I was automatic with a 30 and 3.6

I'm definitely not an automatic. I'll be lucky to get in for sure! :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck:

so as not to be one of those "jerks," i'm declining my offer of admission to RFU tomorrow - i wish i had as many acceptances to decline as there are people on this thread. best of luck to you all!

so what's that, number four that's been vocally declined?

I've never had the problem of them not picking up the phone. Are you using 847-578-3204?

yeah, they usually pick up when i call. i called and i found out that "no decision has been made on my app and that i will have to wait till the next meeting." i asked when the next meeting was, she said she didnt know. so im waiting till may meeting. 🙁

If I had an acceptance for every time I heard her say that.....

Im sure when one of us calls sooner or later someone will know when the next meeting should be.

Thank you for declining RFU.

I heart you 😍

Anyone else wanna come out of the woodwork and let us know they are declining? Please?

I say we band together and start posting on the RFU class of 2011 thread and start writing a lot of things that would discourage all the accepted students to live in Chicago and attend RFU.

Anyone with me?

So this is question I can't find a definitive answer to. Is is worth it going to RFU or does the school really suck!?!? Research faculty at my school say it's a great school, but a few doctors I know do the opposite and start twisting up their faces when I mention RFU. Recently, I read some stuff on Cook county hospitals getting out of RFUs list for rotations. How bad is that?

I'll appreciate any opinions on this. Thanks guys!

Are there people that are on the waitlist right now?

Hey no problem, happy to offer an opinion.
Yeah pretty much no one goes on to residency from our school. We just graduate with our MDs and sit at home, watch Cheaters all day.
(Please realize, I am being sarcastic.)

In all seriousness, I really don't get this attitude. We all worked very hard at CMS for our MDs. And guess what, we do well on our steps and many of us go on to what we want to do, just like any other US medschool.

I am post interview hold. when i called them in March, they emailed me and wrote that my app was neither rejected nor accepted at the last meeting and it will be reviewed at later meetings. i don't know if this can be considered as waitlist or just a post-interview hold.

what kind of waitlist movement is there at rosalind franklin?

I am guessing, if you are accepted at RFU, you would go to RFU and decline Wayne...is that correct?

Same situation here....I think that's the case for a lot of us right now, right?

Hey didn't mean to offend you or anything. Just wanted to get some answers. 👍

Jumpu, could I ask you a few more questions? 'Coz few people claim that it's tough not having a hospital attached to the school... Does it affect you at all during the rotations? How do you get early clinical experiences without a teaching hospital nearby? Do you use the VA? Is it exclusively with simulated patients, etc?

Thanks so much for taking the time! Cheers!

eikenhein,

you are accepted at Wayne. are you waitlisted at RFU or just a post-interview hold?

"does the school really suck!?!?"

what the hell is wrong with you? why would you ask that. either you know nothing about the school or youre trying to start an argument.

Cook county hospitals getting out of RFUs list for rotations? we have new and growing affiliations with the advocate system (good hospitals). if anything, i'd say we're upgrading.

if you really want answers to these questions (which are asked every freaking day it seems here and are always met with the same 🙄 ) do a search or go read the Allopathic class thread.

Who claims its tough? I think in general everyone enjoys the fact that we spend the first 2 years up here studying hard and then head downtown to rotate at a variety of different hospitals in chicago instead of being locked into a "home hospital". early clinical experiences abound. there is a clinical exposure program that can be taken as an elective, we take introduction to clinical medicine which uses standardized patients first year and on-site (in area hospitals) preceptorships second year working with patients. we also have student-run clinics and lots of EC clinical opportunities. if youre going to ask a question, please do so in a respectful way.
