did anybody that was accepted figure out how to get onto the "accepted students" portion of the website? will they send some confirmation with the login info when they receive my acceptance letter?
 
I was wondering the same thing, I might send off an email or call tommorow. It probably isn't that cool, just like the interview site but I'm still curious.
 
Anyone have some info in terms of how much of the class is full and when they expect to fill that sucker up?
as a 3/27 interviewer it'd be some nice info to have. 👍
 
does anyone know how soon does RFU get back after the interview...i have an interview next Tuesday.

Interviewd in October...... They won't tell me anything unless I ask for it..... They told us they'd let us know in December.......... I guess I'm still "neither accepted nor rejected."
 
I interviewed on 1/9, and I just got my acceptance in the mail yesterday!
 
They replied to me in less than a week about my acceptance. I guess if they like you, it's one week. If not, it takes a lil longer.
 
My stomach will be churning till the next adcom meeting. I heard mid march when I called, but apparently more people heard end of Feb, so I am gonna go with that also. My Bday is in the end of Feb, how sweet that would be....

Me too. I called, and they said beginning to mid-march. Sadness... 🙁 I love this waiting game!
 
Did they have a February meeting? I thought they had one once a month 😕

They had the Feb meeting during already, so a lot of us were put on hold. When I called, it seemed like I wasn't even reviewed yet, but I dunno, he said I was on hold. Im going to call early next month.

So nervous :scared:
 
When will you hear from Houston? Depending on what you hear maybe you could send RFU a LOI

Like I said before (I was told by someone in the admissions office), they do not accept a large percentage of interviewees until sometime in the spring. Try not to be too worried if a decision has not been made on your application yet. If you got an interview, the odds are in your favor 🙂

not quite, whether you are "well liked" or otherwise, you're reviewed at the next meeting... you likely interviewed right before a committee meeting, though :laugh:
 
I really wonder what my overall score was based on the interview and my stats. It would be very helpful if that information was shared with us so that we wouldn't have to sit and worry for months on end.

Seriously, and I wonder what the score differential could be? For me, one interview went really well, the other no so sure--but didn't need the third one. I wonder if it comes down to numbers for when you are on hold 🙁

I would think that they probably score everything and pit you against other applicants with the same score. Maybe they accept a certain score threshhold at each adcom meeting.
 
they told us at the inteview on the 8th that the class was currently full, but of course they expect up to 40% turnover.
 
Damn! I just set my heart on that school.
 
hope is not at all lost. they seemed pretty forward about the fact that their current class wouldn't be anything like the one that starts in august. after all, they were still doing interviews.
 
i know that they had their last meeting the first week of feb (either 1st or 2nd)...

i know that theyre having another at the end of feb (i guess sometime on 26-28th)...

anyone know how many interview days they would have had between those two meetings...

i know they had interviews last week (i think 5th-8th)...

did they have interviews this weeks?

This med school admissions process is whack, I wish there was a better way of doing this 🙁

On on #3, hopefully I will not have to do a fourth. Ever consider d.o. schools? I am applying to 2 before the deadline.

No, it's not over yet. RFU has high turnover rates... we both could still get in~ yeah, I'm usually not such an optimist either but there still is a chance!

I interviewed yesterday (2/15)
 
i guess they will have interviews all three weeks between the two adcom meetings...
 
This is pretty off-topic but still about RFU

What was the whole deal with the "accredidation issues" they had when they were formerly known as CMS?

btw, the RFU is still CMS...

it used to be called finch...
 
I spoke to my interviewer about that issue. He said that it had something to do with unscrupulous practices such as trying to get more money from students (by raising tuition and admitting a very large student body). Since Finch left the school, it has been renamed and gone through a curriculum evolution.

Yeah, this is my fourth year...almost certain for a fifth and final try. I used to be an optimist, but after a certain point I lost all faith in everything. If that magical call does come from RFU, I would be in complete shock.

Hopefully we will be classmates.

Have you applied to DO school too?
 
This will be my last app cycle, unless I don't get into any DO's either.
 
It doesnt matter anyways because I am going to withdraw...but i know my interview score. One of the interviewers was being an ass and showed me everything. I think to see my reaction or something lol. I scored 14 out of 20. The whole interview was by far my worst this cycle...the interview and I didnt get along 🙁. I guess my other interviewer gave me the same score since they only let you have another interview if you are 2 points above and below one person. lol. I know my stats are better than RFU acceptance (34, 3.7), so i guess that interview scores matters...

CMS (the school), not Rosalind Franklin (the university) was put on probation about 4-5 years ago. There were changes being made, and at the time of the LCME inspection, things werent exactly upto par. Changes have since been made in accordance to policy, and this probation was lifted in the summer of 2005, before I matriculated. In inspections to come, everything has been met to the standards set before us.

Honestly, its not a huge deal. Schools like Northwestern have been on probation at some times before and they ended up fine. In either case, we are no longer on probation and are continuing to do a great job. Look at our match list if you are unsure about the success of CMS graduates in residency programs.

I just had my interview today. So, I'll be waiting with you guys for a couple of weeks.

it went well. i had a fourth year and a internal medicine doc.
they said that the next meeting is in couple of weeks. and they also said that by March 15th they'll have to finalize the number of seats and report to AAMC. so they will have their meeting before that day for sure.

Oh nice! Hopefully u hear some good news then. I am soooooooo nervous. Looks like the next 2-3 weeks will be hell!

i thought the next meeting was next week (end of feb)...?

i dont wanna wait any longer!!!
 
I am pretty sure that the next will be at the end of Feb. When I asked for my status earlier in Feb, they responded by saying that I will be re-evaluated later in february.
