Ross Fall 2017

So Is the deposit due by today or Monday? A little packet that came in the mail said today but they sent me an email saying Monday

Really? I got my acceptance call yesterday.... and the person interviewing me said there are no deadline for deposit... but then I got the email and it says the deadline is April 15. Now I'm so confused. I gonna to email the student coordinator to make sure.

When I emailed my student coordinator he said the $1000 deposit is due on April 17th, when you click the link to pay the deposit it also says April 17th. I am thinking the packet they sent in the mail is the same one they use every year because if April 15th falls on a weekend day, the deposit is due the following Monday for ALL schools.

Have someone received their packet? i still haven't received mine

Anyone know what time the deposit is due today?

Is anyone else dying for more information from Ross for Fall start? I'm feeling very overwhelmed and I want more information!! haha I think we are supposed to be getting a welcome packet soonish? May?

Just got accepted into vet prep today! Can't wait to meet everyone!

I definitely felt like this when I was accepted but just know that right now ALL of the administrators are focused on getting the spring semester students to St Kitts, settled, getting their financial aid/loans squared away, getting them prepped for and through orientation, and also probably lots of last minute admissions, etc. As soon as the spring semester is under way the fall semester group will be their focus so info should be flowing a lot more freely at that point 🙂

Does anyone know where we submit our deposit? Do we do it online?

Does someone know what we should do after we pat the deposit? Maybe wait for the packet?

Has anyone received or heard anything yet? I feel like I should be doing something to prepare to be moving down to the island already. (I may just be anxious lol)

Has anyone booked their flight yet? I just got an email reminding me about letting them know my flight plans by June 1st and I was trying to hold off until our information packets came in.

I haven't booked my flight yet, but I got that same email today! I'm going to wait until the information packet comes in!

I was also waiting for my packet! I hope I can book my flight soon... also, are you guys flying by yourself or is someone coming with to help you "move"?

I am planning on coming (flying) by myself. I'll have someone drop me off at the airport but then fly down by myself.

I'll be flying down by myself, but then family is coming down after the week-long orientation for the white coat ceremony.

Anyone leaving significant others at home, and how are you handling that?

My fiancé is staying back in the States while I'm in school, so that's gonna be a little rough for us.

Still waiting for my packet....

I am leaving my SO behind 🙁 so far we don't talk about it too often.

Still waiting for my packet....
Just got my packet today- it's a little underwhelming lol. Pretty much all the same info that was in the acceptance letter packet.

Yeah pretty much! I just feel like I don't know what I'm supposed to be doing right now haha

Does anyone have a more detailed packing list than what is on the website? Also, does anyone know what the dorms are like or maybe have some pictures? I feel like if I could just see what it looks like that would help with packing.

I dont know how they look like, but in their website they have a list of the things each room has. At least for me it was helpful. This is the list:

  • Cable TV hook-up. Televisions are not provided in apartment units. You may bring or purchase one here if you wish, but keep in mind that once you move into off-campus housing, your new home will likely have a television. Premium Cable TV is also offered free of charge in each apartment building’s air-conditioned lounge
  • Wireless network accessible in all lounges
  • The units are wired for 110 volts
Each Standard Room Includes:

  • Bed frame, 76” x 55”.
  • Mattress.

On the things to bring list, it says we need to bring an ethernet cable....its that really necesary since now computers dont use that technology. I'm asking since I have a mac and would have to buy an adapter for it

Shouldn't need it as long as there is wireless internet available.

so far what I have understood is that they do have wireless internet available, but if you want a high speed connection then you need the cable. I'm going to ask the IT dept

Couple questions:

1) Anyone accepted into the vetprep program have their loans figured out yet?

2) Is anyone able to access their myRoss? The packet made it seem like we should be able to but either I'm missing something or we cannot yet.

I will be flying by myself, unless my mom decides to come for a couple days. that's looking like a no go though.

we won't be able to access myross until we confirm our flight plans.

Can confirm this. I have my flight plans set up, and immediately received my myRoss account.

Who did you send your plans to? I sent mine last week and still haven't gotten my login.

I sent my flight confirmation to Bill Bingham. Then, about two hours later, he sent me my myRoss. I'd re-email your student coordinator an tell them to get their **** together

There is Wifi in the dorms but sometimes it can be sassy so if you're one of those people who will pee their pants if the internet is not working perfectly 100% of the time or not willing to walk to another building on campus to get better wifi, then bring one.

Email your flight plans to Bill Bingham, most of the rest of the people that you've emailed or have been getting emails from don't know that info.

We should be getting information on housing by the end of the week!

I just got the email about housing! I totally wasn't aware singles were the most common...I was assuming we'd all be cramming into doubles and triples like with undergrad housing!

The Facebook page is up and rolling!

It's "RUSVM Black Semester: Class of 2021"
