Hello Everyone!

I didn't see a thread for this so I decided to start one! Just wanted to know the group that is applying to Ross for May 2015!!!

I got my interview on Tuesday! Freaking out! :xf::xf::xf::wideyed: Any tips?! :soexcited:

You'll be fine! Just be yourself...seriously. Be able to explain any short comings and how you've overcome them. Be able to explain how you're going to be able to adapt to living on the island. They asked me what I would want to change about the profession and what I was excited about. I can't remember much else because I thought my interview went horribly and kind of blocked it from my memory but looking back it really wasn't that bad! All my issues were with the interviewer and not the interview itself.
 
I got accepted for August 2015! The interview was super relaxed, didn't feel like an interview at all. Seemed like they really wanted to get to know me. Got my reply 2 weeks later by email. Good luck on your interviews!!

@dvmacvecchopeful OMG YAY Congrats!!!! Where is your interview at and with who? I'll let you know how mine goes tomorrow and what they asked! 🙂

So the interview went well...I hope!!! lol

They asked about my academic, research, and work experience (I think it is based on your resume) What I did in each experience and which one did I learn the most in?

Why did I choose this career and why ross?
Why the May class and why not the January class?

How does your family feel about you leaving?
What is your role in the family?
How do you feel about leaving?
Does your family support you leaving the country?
How do you feel about missing some holidays?

I had a gap year, so she asked me about that

Have I traveled before? and where? to do what?

For everyone who has had correspondence w/ Ross this cycle, have you found them to be fairly responsive? I applied for the September '15 class back in September, haven't heard a peep from them. Nothing. I feel like my application (along with the exorbitant VMCAS fee I shouldn't have paid) just disappeared into a black hole...
 
@Superleggera That is so weird 😱 I have had a good experience up to now. Have you tried contacting the person from your region?

I personally got an email from them about the interview.

I wrote an email to my contact person awhile ago about a question I had and she actually called me so we could talk.

I would say to contact them and ask the status of it to see what they tell you!

@rd2vetmed So my interview went pretty good. At least i hope so!
Mine was primarily about my academic and work experiences
What i did in each work experience.
Why i choose this career and why Ross?
Animal right vs animal welfare
Why i would want to be a doctor instead of a tech.
Asked about if i had any client interactions or stayed in the back
He also said he will call me in two weeks to let me know the decision! :nailbiting:

@Superleggera @Pinkkurage It also might be due to the fact that you guys have applied for the Fall and they prioritize for January and May. It also doesn't hurt to email them.

Got back an automated response stating they "received an extraordinary number of VMCAS applications for Fall 2015" and are still working on reviewing each one.

Lovely.
 
Hi, I applied for September 2015 as well and I emailed to check if they had received my VMCAS app. I got an email back from one of the director of admissions. She said they did receive it and they will be processing all the fall applications in the next few weeks.
 
Anyone going to the mixer in NYC tomorrow?

Same here! I applied through VMCAS and i haven't heard anything from them at all so I emailed them and got the same message in reply.
 
I got my acceptance from them 2 weeks after my interview in October. Anyone else accepted for sept 2015 class?

I applied for the fall 2015 class and like many I am also waiting to hear from them. I was just wondering if anyone knows if Ross expects us to mail fall transcripts at the end of the term or wait and mail them in the spring if we are accepted? I assume I wait since I haven't even heard from them but I just wanted to be sure. Anyone know anything about this?
 
@pirateslayme I applied for the May class but in the interview they told me to remember to send them the transcripts for this semester when I had it available. But I am not sure for the Fall semester. 😵

I was told to send fall and spring transcripts as they are available. So I have to send my fall transcripts in Jan.
But I still have a prereq that they wanted to see the grade for from fall. I would call your rep and ask if they want them.
My guess would be yes.

I'm still waiting to hear back. My interview was 11/24. I'm not sure when I'll hear back, I kinda thought I would have by now..
 
I declined my offer to Ross so hopefully one you you gets my spot!!! Good luck 🙂

How long did it take to hear back after your interview? Also where did you interview? I had mine in Cherry Hill NJ

I heard back just shy of two weeks from my interview, it was in New Jersey as well but I don't think it was Cherry Hill, it was right by Rutgers U

If you don't mind me asking why did you decline your offer; were you offered a seat at another school? I am having an internal debate because I was accepted May semester but still hoping for another school.

Yeah, I got accepted to SGU with scholarship which is a good 75k cheaper in my case and doesn't require a deposit until April 15th. Ross wanted a non refundable deposit of 500 within 2 weeks of my acceptance before I heard back from other schools 🙁

But I work for two doctors who went to ross and they are ultra successful so it had nothing at all to do with the quality of the program! Just my own funding issues. Hope that helps!

I am honestly worried, because I want to wait for the other schools to know what they say :s

yeah same here. Its not my first choice but I also don't want to end up not going anywhere just because I didnt want to place a $500 deposit

Yeah I guess I need to wait and see if I even get in! haha I know someone who just graduated from Ross and she said she absolutely loved her time there. I also applied to Purdue, VMRCVM, and Michigan State. I have interviews scheduled for VMRCVM and MSU for the beginning of Jan but I still have not heard back from Purdue

Oh I have an interview for VMRCVM as well on 01/18 and still waiting on UF, Purdue and WSU as well. :wideyed:🤢

I am so stressed because not only do you have to have the $500 two weeks after acceptance you have to have another $500 by Jan 1st. That is $1000 before I even hear back from the other schools! I don't know what to do because I want to make sure I have a seat somewhere but $1000 by Jan 1st is crazy

How is this legal with them going through VMCAS?
 
Even for September classes. The deadline of April 15th is only relevant for US schools (except Tuskegee )
 
Has anyone heard back from the interview (11/25), I have yet to hear back, they said a week and its been way over a week (almost five weeks). @dvmacvecchopeful
 
Should I be worried since I see some 2015 ( September) people that received a reply. I'm scared that I haven't received anything yet
