Same here. Called and found out I was on alternate list. I also found not only the curriculum to be organized in a way that I am thrilled to study, but the people there are also very pleasant. What are the chances of getting into RVUCOM through the alternate list? and What else can alternate list people do to help gaining admission? Thanks guys!
Is it normal to receive a nice email from one of your interviewers after acceptance?

Checked there too, didn't see much related feedback 🙁 It's been awfully quiet here lately, and I am starting to think that the last interview batch was in the middle of March...Check the DO student class thread... Under med students, not premed
My understanding of the regional accreditation is to gain federal student aid???
Is that 1-4 years from this fall when they visited then?Basically. Two quick things.
COCA accreditation we get when our 1st class graduates, But we really have it now since its just a matter of paper work going through and all the final assessments have been finished, this Accreditation says you are worthy to be a DO school, meet all requirements to educate DO students ect.
Regional Accreditation, for Federal Aid ect. We are a candidate for this, to be fully accredited here can take 1-4 years. I was at the student lunch when the Regional people came through in the Fall and that is what they told us, they didn't seem to be sure on the time frame after being accepted as a Candidate and actually getting the full Regional Accreditation.
Hope this helps.
Anyone accepted in the last interview group?
Excerpt of email from the President of RVU today:
"Today I received notice that we received the status of accreditation on as of April 22, 2012."
This isn't a shock to me, but it is nice for all of us to hear.
Nothing yet... 🙁 glad you are my chaperone lolWe're here, or at least I am... I get notifications when people comment...
Did you hear anything?
Oh yes, and constant communication with Katy, indicating hisfile has been updated with new info.Has your husband been persistently sending LOI to the school? I can't say you'll get in, but it's the only thing that will help...
I totally appreciate this info; it helps a lot, thank you!ah, okay here's the deal with that...
RVU doesn't interview 4x the number of people they plan to accept "just in case," they accept ~75% of the people they interview, and the final deposits were due in May, which is a considerable sum of money ($2500). There will not be considerable movement on the waitlist compared with other schools. Not to crush your hopes/dreams, just letting you in on the info. Unless they have a considerable amount of people give up the $2500, you won't see much movement. Still, best of luck because it really is hard to say based on the fact that there isn't a 'drop dead' date like with MD schools. There really should be...
