OPENING POST
You exit the elevator, ready for another day at work. What do you do exactly?
A co-worker stops you on your way to your cubicle. "Hey, the boss said to go straight to the conference room. Where have you been all morning? Check your email."
Rolling your eyes, you take a drawn-out swig of your morning beverage of choice. No rest for the wicked. Or so they say.
You're a journalist, always seeking the next big story. Regarding serial killers. Your boss works a lot with the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit's liaison with police and media officials (maybe it best no one knows you have the liaison's personal phone number).
Criminal profiling. A fascinating topic but one that you don't like to dwell on too much. There's something unsettling about serial murders and murderers.
Like the term, "unsub" - In a criminal profile, the unsub (short for unknown subject or unidentified subject of an investigation) is the unidentified person whose crimes are being investigated. The term "unsub" is associated with "unsub profiling," where investigators determine traits about an unsub to narrow the suspect pool.
Wonder what your boss has to tell you today?
