Should updates about courses be sent if they are different than what was included in the application?

  • If the application indicated taking a course but that course was not taken and a different course was taken instead.
  • Grades for prerequisite courses were not available at time of application but are available now.
  • A previous update was sent to schools that did not include courses (would it be negative to send another update?)

Have you interviewed and are either waiting for a decision or are on a waitlist?
Do the schools want or even accept updates?

Reporting grades for prerequisite courses seems like it would be helpful if you have been interviewed and have been waitlisted or are still waiting for a decision after interview. Not sure about the other scenarios but then again, decisions to take specific applicants off the waitlist have never been in my hands.

I have sent an update before, but was wondering if it would be bothersome to send another just for grades.
