Should I defer my acceptance to a DO school to apply to MD schools next year?

So by the grace of god i gained acceptance into an osteopathic medical school with an MCAT score in the LOW 490s (and I mean very low 490s). Genuinely felt unreal when I found out I was accepted. And so with me thinking i was not going to get accepted this cycle I planned for and retook the MCAT on May 9th and will be getting my score back on June 10th and am quite confident it will be higher than my last score. This DO school requires an answer from me by May 30th. So with that being said I wanted to ask if i should request a deferral to this school in order to apply to MD schools next year. I have nothing against DO, but i have been told from students who attend this school specifically that the admin sucks and if i can go somewhere else i should. Of course if they deny my deferral I will just go to the school this year. So if they do accept my deferral request and i apply to some MD schools would there be any consequences from either the DO or the MD school. I figure that the DO school would revoke my acceptance at that point but would the MD school revoke my possible acceptance if they were to find out I violated the deferral agreement with the DO school? Im in a tough spot and im sure most of you will say to just go to the DO school but I was genuinely not expecting to get in and Ive been putting in a TON of time and effort into my MCAT studying for about 9 months and it would just be a shame if I cannot see where my new score takes me.

I cannot imagine a school would allow you to defer to apply to other schools. Realistically, how much better do you really think your MCAT score will be this time? The average MD matriculant is scoring a 512 on the MCAT, so even if you do score higher on the MCAT, I think it’s unlikely you score 20+ points higher. Even that score would not be a guarantee of acceptance anywhere else. Ultimately, it’s up to you, but you need to be ok with the idea that you will be ending all opportunities of attending the school that has accepted you and come to terms with the idea that you may not ever get another chance.

Don't try the "get a deferral and hope nobody figures it out" strategy. When signing for a deferral to next year, you also attest that you are not using the year to apply out to other schools. You risk the consequences you described yourself.

Accept your DO offer.
See what your MCAT score turns out to be on June 10th.
If it's massively higher, think about what you want.
If it only went up to 500-501 stay with your school.

With a 490 MCAT, you honestly believe that you'll get into an MD school?
