I always think it is funny when people say that rural medical school students will never be able to specialize because of their school of choice. I myself have not applied to PCSOM, but I know that there have been many students say that if you want to specialize, dont go to PCSOM or WVSOM or DCOM, etc. So props to you PCSOM and WVSOM students.

I found this web page, and its a list of residency programs in the Ohio area. There are a majority of the Docs that come from PCSOM and WVSOM

http://www.kmcnetwork.org/gvmeded/

Diagnostic Rad, ENT, Gen. Surgery, Neurology, etc.

Just goes to show that alot of us dont know what we are talking about.......

Thanks for giving PCSOM some love...I truly believe that my class is going to have more specialist then primary care, if not it will be 50-50. So, far we are off to a good start and our results will be in just a few months.

When I got the secondary, and the essay question was something like, "Tell us why you would make an outstanding rural osteopathic physician," I realized I didn't want to lie, so I never completed it. Stupid maybe, but I didn't want to pretend just to get an interview. Seems like a good school too.
