She lost the dog, she found the dog, she supplemented the dog with some sort of marsupial that is both illegal and stupid for her to have... she's a character.
I'm sure she'll come to your med school and strike her one pose if you pay her the going rate -- $200k
At which point you can say, "Do something else!"
And she'll switch sides so the other shoulder is pointing forward this time.
i'd never give my money to her. i think i'd lose brain cells just from being in her presence.Oculus Sinistra said:
then again, it could be worth the money just to hear her say, "that's hott" because i still can't believe that it's possible for someone to sound like such an idiot.
lol how could anyone say single and not looking.
Erina said:
Come on, girls with no brains and bad boobs need to have a catchphrase in order to compete with the rest of us swimming upstream.
But yeah, your brain cells actually differentiate into other cells so they don't have to process her voice.
I feel like I really missed something when I opened this thread....
I'm glad that I'm not the only one that feels that way. I remember learning in my sociology class as well as reading various articles on the internet about a large percentage (I forget the exact number) of people find their spouse in college. That depresses me as a single person. It's med school or bust for many reasons now.kypdurron5 said:

haha never. I am sure there is some good explanation, but honestly, its a bit too mind numbing to try and read it
joanofarc0907 said:
Nah, there's no good explanation. There is only "Paris Hilton" and the phrase "there is no good explanation".
We previously had some quarter flyers explainaing it here somewhere.
If you can't find one just look on the floor.
This one, for instance, has a shoe mark on it. But all the hard data is still there.

Unless another relationship spontaneously arises (one of those car accidents that turned into dinner that turned into walking on the beach at night deals), I'll be entering medical school (eventually) as a single guy.
Which I'm okay with.
Coming from Florida, I'll hopefully be more tan than the next guy.
I am single right now, but I am not applying for another year so who knows. I wouldn't mind going into medical school single though. I think I would like to date another professional, or someone in the health care field.
Well, it could be that some of us realize we aren't going to be around our area much longer and therefore do not see any point in looking for someone in that area. I'm not going into medical school just yet, but I am transferring after this fall semester and personally can not see any point in becoming involved with someone here knowing that I will be leaving in 4 months.SeventhSon said:

yes, very smart post
its what people do nowdays though - ***** around
but i'm not sure that waiting 'till med (or maybe dentistry for me) school until you find someone is a bad idea , since the majority of people in undergrad seem to have the 'party mentality'
I wonder if SDN is representative of the entire medical school population.
60% single and 40% dating/married?

Which brings up a good point, I didn't see a "married but looking" or "married AND casually dating" options on this poll. From what I have seen that goes on in some of these hospitals, it would certainly be a popular option.
Agreed... THIS IS A FLAWED POLL THREAD AND SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN...
Molly?
Molly?

What happened to your own poll? I know mine is dying a slow death in the lounge.taylormade44 said:
ouch, but i agree. is it impossible for girls to just date a guy who wants to be a physician? i think they immediately start seeing long term security and not mention, $$$. after they realize that, you're done, in for the long haul. not that i don't want to marry the girl i'm dating, it's that i don't even want to think about getting married at all right now. with me on this?

A-frickin-men to that. I am perpetually "one of the guys". Sometimes I wonder why I don't hook up with some of them, but then I realize that 1. I'm too lazy for that and 2. I'm not about to act all whorish and ride up on their junk just to get their attention.
I'm far from prim and proper (i.e. I can totally crack a dirty joke and I'm all about the pudding fight) but I'm not about to wear revealing clothes, apply too much make-up, and just start making out with some dude at a party.
Then again, it all comes down to ladder theory.

Yeah, showing interest just requires too much effort. Someone had better be quite compelling if I'm to go out of my way to express my interest or try to get a date.
I'm with you: there's no way I'm going to wear revealing clothes, apply too much make-up or start making out with some dude at a party. 👎

but there is no what i'll get my gpa THAT high no matter what i do aha
Wait, Severus and looque are girls??
Damn I was fooled. I would never have guessed.
As for meeting a random guy at a bar and then going home with him, it does happen and it doesn't mean it's that bad. I mean, at least in my situation, if I meet a girl at a bar and things just kind of happen to the point where we want to take the party elsewhere, I'm all about going with the flow. I do make the conscious attempt not to let it go too far, though, because you just never know.
It doesn't happen as often as you would think though. It just seems like it because it happens to different guys each time you go out.
Sometimes though, I'll get a girl's number and we just hang out the next night or something when we're both more lucid, so to speak. Again, this doesn't happen that often (mostly because I don't like to hit on strange women for some reason). Besides, I have no game.

I'm a guy. I was just making a joke earlier about not making out with guys at parties (although it's perfectly true that I would refuse to make out with any guys ever).
EDIT: The make-up and revealing clothes part was also a joke, although it's again true that I don't wear make-up or revealing clothes (do they make "revealing clothes" for guys?)

Ok, all the safe sex stuff being a given, I feel compelled to point out that your starting to sound like the 40 yo virgin. Especially saying that takes too much energy to show interest in an attractive woman?? 😱 Sounds like you may need a hormone boost buddy. Intervention! Intervention! Put down the MSAR and get out there! 👍 You'll be surprised how much energy you get when you crush on someone.
Looque said:
There is always protection and birth control. I like sex a lot more than science and medicine... there, I said it.
Haemulon said:
I recognize that having sex doesn't automatically produce babies and that I dramatically overstated the risks of safe sex. That stated, I don't care for the notion of random sex/hook-ups. This stems from a personal experience.
But really, it does take too much effort to express interest. I'm a pretty content guy, so the status quo is not something that I'm desperate to destroy. However, if an assertive person of the female persuasion approaches and impresses me, then sure, I'll go with it. I'm only going to make the effort myself after I know I'm very interested, which typically would only be after a couple dates, so that initial thrust is on her.
And an MSAR? Nooo, no. I don't own one and actually have never laid eyes upon one. I'm happy about that.

Nah, I know you're just joking around. I gave a brief description of what happened in an older Pittsburgh thread regarding the ethical/moral dilemma essay. Not a virgin, but very restrained now.
