How are you going to do that, "Sally"?You guys, we just have to talk all the lady PGY-1 residents into getting pregnant and taking extended maternity leaves. Then we poach their open positions. Better yet, let's go get them pregnant.
This is so freaking anxiety provoking

Does anybody know if we have to reapply to the same program each round?
For instance, if I applied to program X on monday, I don't get an offer in Round 1, and they still have an opening in Round 2, do I have to use one of the 10 additional applications to reapply to program X? Or does the single application on Monday carry forward through the whole week? I have been searching and reading the policies and can't get a clear answer.

God, I never felt sooooo nervous in my life. My feet are actually numb from all the anxiety.
From what I understand, Our applications remain in the pool for round two and we do not reapply to those programs but they can rerank us as they choose.Does anybody know if we have to reapply to the same program each round?

In the NRMP R3 systemWhere are you guys seeing that message?
dont freak our guys....it always says "offers are being generated..." before they send or dont send offers. this is based on experience from last year except this time it seems to be even slower since its been 5 min already. last year it took around 2-3 minutes.

Ok sorry thanks I found it, getting the same message.
I got that message too on the NRMP website.
I got an e-mail right at noon that said "noreply" and I got super excited...only to find that it was from a PD from a program I interviewed at months ago that filled just saying "good luck on the match." Probably something that got lost in the system....thanks for that heart attack...

Holy **** my sister got 5 offers for medicine prelim, we were screaming. She is DO, matched advanced into Neuro. 4 more med prelim spots will be available for the next round.
the "offers are being generated" cannot be the message for people who dont get an offer unless they have some system error because 1) that message makes no sense in that case 2) last year that same message came up but it was followed up after a couple minutes by saying you have no offers so that was much more clear. this si strange.
The problem with the scramble/SOAP is that it is biased towards the programs. In addition, programs are "not really" scrambling, like the applicants are. Programs do not have to fill all their spots in the scramble. In fact many would rather take their sweet time to interview and cherry pick applicants...so programs are never as desparate as the applicants. So it is not a fair system. To be more fair, programs should be pushed to fill all thier spots IN SOAP, so that both applicants and programs are on the same level of desparation. But sadly, the system is not fair (meaning biased).
