This is the message I am getting trying to log in. Looks like we are overloading be constantly checking? Or there is genuinely a problem? Try and not panic. Give them some time to fix...
 
So "Offers are being generated for the current offer round." means you're screwed?
 
I believe the way it works is similar to a ranking system. If someone is taken out of the soap because they accepted an offer then it goes to the next person who was ranked.
 
i really think theres genuinely a problem...hope they fix it soon
 
thats true barefootrunner but the next person wont be offered it until the next round. it wont be given now.

that's not how they said the offer system works?? or did we get it wrong?
if what you are saying is true then we all have to be tethered to our computer screens until the end of the offer period..
 
Ok this is really confusing, so if the message still stays offers is being generated then we still might get an offer??
 
For those who got offers, did you get them in an e-mail or on the NRMP website?

And did we decide what "offers are being generated" means yet?

It means we're unwanted.
 
as i understand it, offers only go out once per round. but i think it's total B***SH** that there isn't a message saying "you have no offers for this round" instead of "offers are being generated". what the damn hell. on the nrmp twitter site they posted, "The first round of SOAP has begun and offers have been sent to applicants" 10 min ago...

It could mean a number of different things. Last year there was a clear message after this one, "you did not receive any offers during this round" It could be that it's still crunching out offers and some have received them and some haven't. Anybody get any advanced (PGY-2) offers yet?
 
"Offers being generated...." = No Offers.

It is NRMP's "nice" way to break bad news
 
there has to be a problem because this message isnt right. but then again, some people got offers. this is too strange. i think someone should call nrmp and figure it out

it is true thats how the system works but the next perso in the list wont be offered it until the next round...so no need to be tethered!
 
im gonna guess that they screwed up with the coding and instead of writing no offers etc like theyre suppose to, they left this message up. this is taking into consideration that some people got offers

Got offers being generated message, no offers
Panicked
Refreshed a few times
12:12 pm EST: Offer from backup program showed up
 
When you hit refresh you guys (does any one or only me) notice how if you did not get an offer its say the next round offers will be sent at....for a split sec before going back to offers are being generated.
 
oh there's that message "You do not have any offers for the current offer round". yay :mad:
 
Ok its finally changed, it officially says I have no offers for this round. =(

will we know at 2 if the spots we are hoping for are gone?
 
Its like they are lurking on SDN and finally figured out the coding problem

we should know in 2 hrs which progam spots are gone and which are still open since people have 2 hours to accept/reject offers. has anyone gotten an offer without an interview at that particular place?
 
no offers ..... with every minute that goes by.... a little part of me dies :hungover:

No offers this round. I guess we'll see what scraps are left after 5PM today.
 
Can people who accepted offer comment on what specialty you accepted? so we get a general idea what positions are available. thanks
 
For those how got offers....Did you interview (over the phone or in-person) with ALL of the places you got offers from?
 
does anyone know if letter writers are allowed to call the programs we interviewed on our behalf? or is that match violation?

Also - friends of mine got rads in WI, and FM in WI.

It is a Match violation, unless the program initiated contact first during SOAP.
