Hi Everyone,
Last time asked you guys does it matter which school we graduate, and I still haven't decided which school I should go 🙄 probably it is because they are not my first or second choice 🙁 I've asked 2 of my professors, they both said it doesn't matter if the school is famous or not. However, one of them did say that some employers do make their decision based on the name of the school. I think that no matter which school I go, I still get a Pharm.D degree, but I also think that it will be nice of have a nice school name on my diploma when I graduate. Is there anyone having the same problem? 😕

Have you applied anywhere, yet? Or, have you been accepted to two schools and you need to make a decision?

I don't think that it makes that much difference. I've heard that there are 3 or more job offers for every graduate coming out of school.

I know what you mean, though. I was a little swayed by whose name is on my diploma. For instance, I didn't apply to Florida A&M even though it is a state school and would have been inexpensive. It just isn't considered a top tier school for undergraduate work, so I figured it would be worse for pharmacy. Also, it is the only school in the state that doesn't require the PCAT, so I thought that they would get a lot of rejects from other schools.

Get out a pad of paper and make a table:

- write both school's names on it on the left
-write things that matter to you on the top of the table (tuition, location, curric, board pass rate, job prospects from ea school,)
-assign a point scale to how important each is if tuition is most important assign ten points to it, and five to board passing rate)
-go through the table and rate the school with the the better of the two schools either one or two
-tally them up on the right most column and see which has the highest score.

You don't have to make a decision based on it and it'll change some times, but at least you'll have it out in front of you.
