Personal Statement:
Told the story of my round-about 20 year journey toward Veterinary Medicine. Discussed resilience I gained as a jockey, and how it has helped me persevere through an injury which forced me to end my previous career. Discussed my desire to use my skills as a veterinarian to address the issue of catastrophic breakdowns in racehorses. Briefly touched on the strategies I will use to be successful in vet school in spite of the disability I now have. Basically, I emphasized how my past experiences have taught me the skills necessary to succeed in Vet School.
