Sullivan University Anyone?

If you read some of the earlier posts here you would see that the admissions office filled all the Friday interview dates between Sept and December and now they're working to fill the Thursday spots which (I believe) are filled through the end of October now. Since they accept students on a rolling admission - starting with the earliest candidates and filling spots until full, their backtracking on interview dates seems to contradict their policy. But as they are the admissions office they can do what they want so we just have to abide by their decisions and hope for the best!:meanie:
 
I spoke with Dr. Tran today and he said the committee is meeting today. We will get the letter next week. I think the people who are interviewing today should also get it. Damn they are so lucky because they dont have to wait a week.

I, too, would appreciate any information regarding the questions they asked in the interview. Especially since there were only 2 posts for Sullivan in the Interview Feedback section of SDN and neither were helpful. This will be my first interview for ANYTHING...EVER so I don't want to blow it! Thanks.🙂
 
guys- when you submitted your application, did they send you a letter for an invite or did you call them?
 
They emailed me to tell me they received my application and about a week later I got another email inviting me to interview with a phone number to call to schedule. I was given a choice of two dates but by the time I called (after class a few hours later) the first date was already filled!
 
hey forest- thanks mate for the response. i just sent mine 2 days ago...i'm hoping they call me in for an interview. did you ever email the dean? any suggestions I should do ?

No, I never emailed the Dean. I didn't do anything special - I just concentrated on making sure everything was "in" as soon as possible. Have your references sent in their LOR's, did you order your transcript?, did you arrange for your PCAT scores to be sent in? Right before I got my 2nd reference to complete his LOR (had to wait for him to return from cataract surgery) I got an email asking for two passport sized photos. I didn't know they needed them as it wasn't on the checklist anywhere. I mailed them the same day I got the email and then got the email invite about a week later. So my best advice is to stay on top of all the factors you can control and then keep checking your email. Even though I had no problem getting mine it is always a good idea to check your deleted emails as well as some emails I've received from other schools go there for some reason. Good luck!:luck:
 
Forest- thanks, would you suggest I should just go ahead and send my passport photo anyway? or just wait for them to ask ? I have sent all the necessary documents about a week ago...so i should be expecting to hear from them in a week or so...
 
Yes, I would go ahead and send them - they'll need two. Bet you'll hear something soon...they seem pretty on the ball.🙂

Read my previous post. Wear a suit and dont bring anything with you. They will ask you why do you want to go to this school? introduce yourself? why pharmacy? why should we choose you? make sure you thank them at the end. Don't sit down unless being told to do so. Prepare some questions so you can ask them at the end.

if anyone in here have their interview already. Can you tell me if there a writing portion after the interview. If so, what kind of question do they ask and how long do you get to write the essay?

no there is no essay because your personal statement is the essay portion. However, you must be able to elaborate on the things you have writen. They might ask you so be prepared...........

I got a BS in biology. GPA 3.20 with 2 years of pharmacy experience. I also shadowed a dentist. I did a lot of community services. I got the letter by mail. If you recieve a letter by email, you are not fully admitted. On the formal letter you must sign on the letter and return it with a $500 dollars deposit. You guys don't have to be scared because they are friendly. I suggest that you guys should practice with the interview questions. They will test your integrity and ability to solve problems. They will give you a scenerio and you need to solve the problem. Good Luck To All!!!

hey congrats. you said that they were going to meet and evaluate your application on friday, so how did you get the mail on saturday? or did they email you?

I don't know that what Dr. Tran said but i got the letter on Friday by mail. It might be a special case for me. I rocked the interview and the interviewers were impressed. I had a fun time at the interview. After the interview I was invited to have pizzas with them.

Pizzas???😱 Wow - that sounds like my kind of interview!😀 Best case scenario kind of thing. I guess the only way I could top it is if they invited me out for beers!:laugh:
 
yup they have pizza and soda for everyone. they can invite you after the interview or before if you come early.

WELCOME LUUPHARM!!!!!!!!!!!!!to class of 2013!!!!!!! hey lets find an apartment? i ordered many books for next semester. I want to get ahead. We will dominate physiology and immunology.
 
hooray!!...How do know what books to buy? I checked the place out while I was there. It was really nice! When are you planning to head overthere? In the meantime, Im preparing myself (cost of living, looking for apt on rent.com). I can relax now!!! Finally!!

I heard we will have this ceremony at the begining of the second semester. It doesnt make sense because most schools have it before the first semester. Anyways Cant wait to wear the coat!!!!!!!!!! hey guys we have to dress formally this means no jeans or t-shirt. It is all about dress clothes!!!

I looked at the curriculum...i ordered the pharmaceutical calculations book....immunology......i will use my old physiology book. Let me know if you find a good apartment! we could split the bills.

hahah change your SDN status..you are a pharmacy student now!!!!give yourself credits......it was a tough competition...many sweats and tears....long hours of flight.....stressful preparation for the interview....in the end you DID IT!!!!!!!!

Shirt and tie every single day, I was bummed when I found that out because that is what I wear now. I was hoping I could wear scrubs.

Are you saying we have to wear a shirt and tie and dress pants the whole time we're in pharmacy school? I don't mean to sound ignorant, but I guess I never really gave any thought to wardrobe. Just want to confirm this because if that is the case I have a whole new wardrobe to buy! Thx.

This is true. The premise is that you're working toward a professional degree so you should look professional while doing so. 😀

This is Mon-Thur, though. I believe that if you come in on Fridays or during a break, the dress code does not apply. This is just what I've ascertained from when I've been on campus.
 
hey guys- don't worry about wardrobe and stuff. try looking at EXPRESS for men, Forever 21 (MEN), Banana Repulic, Zara for men...these outfits are not that expensive...

by the way I sent my app last week, so I'll let you all know if I get an invite for the interview. FYI- i'm from CA, so I hope they call me in...
