Sullivan University Anyone?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
it's for a job interview at Cigna so I could get free health insurance  can't afford my own. Do you guys support the health reform?

I believe we need reform, I do not agree with a government run public option.

Has anybody who interviewed on october 8th received an admissions or rejection letter yet?

has anyone that interviewed on oct.2nd receive anything besides Wes?? I still havent recieved anything!

My interview is also Oct 29. Forrest Gump what time is your interview?

I agree that reform is needed. There is a lack of standardization and financial efficiently in the medical community. Even if reform occurs I fear that the medical savings will be kept at the insurance companies and premiums will stay high and coverage low. Therefore, I believe that reform needs to occur but also change must occur with the insurance companies. I do not necessarily agree with the government run public option as medicare has major issues as it is, but short of that initiative that would drive competitive coverage, strict regulation of business practices would be the only other alternative I could see. I'm not happy with either option. Let's hope we have some smarter people in the capital that can work these things out.

Took my last foreseeable PCAT today and am stoked that I can stop thinking about apps, pcat, and the like and just be able to focus on learning at school again. 6 weeks for pcat results, 7 weeks till classes are over, 8 weeks till my interview at Sullivan, and 9 weeks till Christmas!

Who here is ready for Christmas break? Me!!!!!!!!!!👍

Just a sample of your work history, volunteer experience, etc. I sent mines as a resume with a little bit of update stuff before I got my interview.

I'm getting anxious. I was looking at all of my friends' pics of their white coat ceremonies (they all got in somewhere....I was the odd ball 🙁), and I'm getting anxious!!! I just want to know already! lol

How is everyone else holding up? 😀

Just completed my app...will be mailing it off about Tuesday.😀

That's great to hear, hopefully you don't get slowed down too much with the processing lag. I know they have to catch up on the processing of applications.

How was the PCAT?

Well if I get in then that would be good.

The PCAT is a distant memory for me right now. Lets just say I am glad I am done with it.

Grats wes!

Also- we have a lot of students from cali in our class, and theyre mostly asain. I asked them why they came here bc they tend to spend a lot of time complaining about the weather and all (understandable when your used to 80 and sunny everyday). Anyways they came to SUCOP bc they didn't get in anywhere else.

Criz why would you make such a racist comment about your classmates? Who cares where they are from or what ethnicity they came from.. they are your classmates and you go to SUCOP too. Maybe some people think the same about you. Maybe others think you only went to SUCOP b/c you didn't get in anywhere else.

Don't beat yourself up over the PCAT, it's a tough test for sure.

Couple of things...

Not sure where you were going with this, but it comes off very racially motivated.

I've been asked by several of my friends if I saw this post and I said that I haven't been on here for awhile. So I thought I would check it out. I must say that I'm dumbfounded as to why this was posted. It doesn't matter what the ethnicity of our classmates are. I've got news... I'm not asian, nor from Cali, but I was commenting on the cold weather. No mention of the Texan complaining.

As to attending SUCOP because they didn't get in elsewhere... Why are you here? Did you not get in elsewhere?

It would not have been wrong to just say the people from California, but when you add in that they're mainly asian.... That's just wrong!!!!

Let's try to remember that this forum is supposed to be positive and about pharmacy admissions. Any other drama is|not going to help any of us get into sullivan college of pharmacy.

Yes lets please keep it civil in this thread so we can help individuals applying to our school....Remember everyone PROFESSIONALISM!....oh and lets go FLORIDA STATE !!!

Irony...Sullivan will not tolerate this behavior....I think Criz should apologize for this comment............there is no way to track down who this person is.....he is lucky because his identity is protected......class of 2012 track him down please:laugh:

I don't think this person intended for this comment to come across like it did, but it is a comment that shouldn't have been made.

I for one like diversity wherever I am at, but that is just me.

I am really not.

Now I already got the money to get the money order and will mail them tomorrow. Oh I still need to get some passport size pics.

Quick question: Who do we make payments payable to? Might be a stupid question but better to be safe than sorry.

I am not making this up.....i don't know how this battle will go down cuz people are still trying to apply....maybe they will do extra interviews? I am not sure but it wont be a nice battle

Make the payment to Sullivan University College of Pharmacy. I know of some people who got in without B.S. Degrees this time around. I have a B.S. in Biology but my GPA is not as high as those people who got in from the last year stats lol. Hopefully that will be a difference maker for me.

I dont think you need a B.S. or B.A in anything to get in those are just the stats. I mean having a degree can only help you not hurt you.

that is nice........so far me, you, Wes and couples of people have our degrees. I don't think we should consider GPA as a big factor because you can't compare University GPA from community college GPA. I think people having A in CC should be equivalent to B- in University. This is why Pharmcas gives extra points for classes at a University.

I kind of agree with you Legit, but I think there would have to be certain circumstances. There are some courses at my school that are just as easy, if not easier than at the local communities colleges. There are some degrees that are more respected at the local CC's in my area than the same degrees at the Universities. Like I said, I agree, but with certain circumstances. But I guess it doesn't really matter, since it's all the same once we get into Pharmacy school. And all of us had to work to get there, so I don't think it's a big deal where prereqs are done or how they are weighted. If I had a choice, I would have much rather done my prereqs at a local CC than my university. It would have been much cheaper, and full of less drama. 😛

what is your status?

Okay to clarify:
-My comment was in no way racially motivated.
-The discussion was about california vs ky and a lot of people from california are in our class. Many of these people are also of asain decent.
-A couple of pages back someone made a comment about the possibility of there being a lot of asains in the class of 2013, I was simply stating that there are several people of asain decent in our class.
-I also said that I understand that they don't like the weather of ky compared to cali. I think cali weather is probably a lot nicer and I know when I moved to ky from michigan I complained about it being too hot.

-Now to the meat of the problem. I thouroughly apologize for how my last sentence came out. When I was typing I meant to say that I had asked one of my classmated from cali why she came to ky. She had told me she didn't get in anywhere else. I don't plan on making excuses. What I typed was not what I meant to, but I typed it none the less and will take responsibility for it. In fact, I didn't even realize I had typed it as such until I got to this bullet point and reread what I had typed. In no way did I mean to say that everyone in our class from cali could not get into another school. I simply meant to offer up that on example without calling that person out specifically.

Those who know me in class should be able to confirm that I hold no ill will towards anyone. I have happily studied with anyone in class and helped those whose first language is not English with their papers. I will freely admit that anyone in class is at least as smart as I am and equaly capable into getting into any other school if they put forth the effort. If anyone would like an apology then I am more than willing to apologize to them face to face.

Couple of other points before class starts

- I have made no effort to hide my identity. I use the same screen name for everything and freely told many of my classmates who I was from this forum when we met.
- cd, I have not heard you complaining about the weather so I could not "comment about the texan complaining"
- Since it was asked- I came to Sullivan because it was my first choice. I have family in Louisville and I grew up here. I also wanted to get my school done asap. I was accepted to sullivan and uk and rejected from cinci.
