Temple Fall 2012 Applicants

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
We find each other again hahaha 🙂 I applied here too! Interviewing the week after Thanksgiving!! I am excited - this is one of my top choices!

Lol congrats on yet another interview! =) I'm from Philly and went to undergrad here as well so i'm looking to go out of state (or at least the city) but Temple is definitely one of the schools that I would love to go to as well!

I'll be interviewing Dec 9th, flying out of Cali. :xf:

I Interviewed on 11/10 and received acceptance on 11/15. Haven't decided if I will be attending yet.

The interview was very relaxed, myself and 1 other prospective student met with a memeber of the faculty for about an hour. Normal interview questions. There was also a tour available if you come by the campus at 12:00pm.

Congratulations!

How was the interview like? meaning how many interviewers asked you questions and what did they ask? Were you all in the same room during the interview? Can you explain how the whole thing went because I have one after thanksgiving :xf:

I planned to apply,Temple is one of my list, but I have not dicided. I have GPA 3.65 and PCAT 80 composite, where as I took the pre-pharma courses at communnity college.I am not confident which pharmacy school accept applicants from community college.

It was 45 minutes and I had one other applicant with me. A faculty member conducted the interview and asked both of us general interview questions. It was very relaxed and enjoyable

I attended all of my pre-req courses at community college and my stats are similar to yours,so far I have not had any issues getting interviews and have one acceptance letter so far. I wouldn't be too worried.

Was there an essay section for the interview? Thanks!!

Received my acceptance email yesterday!! I am so excited! I really liked Temple when I visited for my interview - such a positive atmosphere and the students are great! And Philly is an AWESOME city! This school is my second choice and I won't be hearing from my first choice (University of Maryland) for at least another month so I will probably have to put down the deposit.

Congrats! I was wondering how long it took for them to invite you to an interview after submitting your supplemental application? Also, how many days after your interview did they notify you of your acceptance? Thanks.

It took about 1.5~2 weeks for them to invite me for an interview, which I thought was VERY fast, considering it was a paper supplemental. And then it took 2 weeks for them to send me the acceptance email after the interview.

Yay!! Just got my interview invite from Temple 🙂 will call in and schedule it tomorrow! How did everyone feel about the group interviews? Seems like they weren't too intense?

I just e-submitted an application here and will send supplemental tomorrow hopefully there are still seats open.

I just called in to schedule my interview and they said that their interview range is from January 17th to March so you definitely have a shot 🙂 Good luck 👍

I just got an interview invite from Temple and it has only been 8 days since I e-submitted my pharmcas and mailed my supplemental. This shows me they are on top of things unlike Thomas Jefferson who I have still not heard back from after 5 months. Oh well, Temple's gain is Jefferson's loss.

Good luck on your interview at Temple! They are definitely quick about responding after the interview because I had my interview at 11am today, went on the tour around 12pm, got home and checked my email around 2pm to find that i'd been accepted!!

Don't give up on Jefferson yet though, it's a great school and has a pretty awesome faculty from what I saw. You never know they might call you in for an interview 🙂

They received my application today at 11am and offered an interview at 2pm. I have it on Friday so i'll let you peps know how it goes. Hopefully i'll get accepted as quickly as you all have.

GPA 3.6 PCAT 65% (bio 94%)

Oh and I read on some threads that there was an essay after the interview any truths to that? And were there technical questions like describe a primary carbocation?

I applied today with following stats...

83 composite
98 bio
90 chem
78 math
3.4 overall gpa 3.7 science gpa
dunno the essay score cuz it was Jan 11th PCAT.

Dont know if I have a good chance or not... but does anyone know

1) what kind of questions they ask
2) how long it takes for them to get PCAT scores
3) how long it takes for them to process a transcript once you send it from your college (for schools that are not far away, aka within PA)

Before using that as your basis or trashing other schools, consider that most schools have their application process pretty well scheduled out. I.e. Reviewing applications the first week of a month, sending out invites the second, and scheduling for the third and fourth. If your App isn't in by the first week, then you're waiting another month.

I submitted my PharmCas on 9/20 and didn't hear from Temple until Novemeber.

I was accepted with fairly similar stats, so I don't think that will hold you back as long as you interview well.

You can get information on questions from the Interview Feedback section of SDN - it's pretty accurate.

For PCAT and Transcripts, check with your school and Pharmcas.

Congrats on getting accepted to Temple. I have an interview next wednesday. You mentioned that they asked "normal" interview questions...I have no idea what normal interview questions are. How did you prepare for the interview? The interview is what I'm concerned with the most. I've gotten this far, I'd hate to blow it due to interviewing inexperience...

Help, anyone?

got in today, can't wait to meet you'll

my interviewer/professor, spent about 20 mins going over the school and himself then 35 mins talking to us. very informal, he asked us about ourselves, why pharmacy, why temple, very laid back don't stress out like i did and relax. we went one person at a time so group interview was kinda personal but other people could have a supporting comment, no wrong answers.

i would prepare by having parents or friends ask you questions about why pharmacy and what you wanna do with your degree and have them cut you off midthough once they find something interesting. good luck

Also got my acceptance today. As membername90 said above, it really did not feel like an interview. More of a discussion. The only question that would probably be asked is "why pharmacy"

Interviewed Friday 1/20.....and got accepted yesterday on 1/23 via email !! looking forward to seeing you all this fall!

i got waitlisted and in the email they told me to put down a deposit if in fact they plan to accept me towards the end. So if i don't get accepted, does it mean that i don't get my deposit back???? anyone know of anyone that got waitlisted and got accepted in the end???? or is anyone in a similar situation as me?? thanks for any feedback

Interviewed 2/24 accepted 2/27. The waitlist usually goes all the way to the summer semesters before a reply.

Good luck

Interviewed 2/23 and accepted on 2/27.
Does anyone have any recommendations for apartments in Philadelphia?

Depends on what you're willing to spend. Center City is great but expensive. Fairmount/Art Museum are close to CC and more affordable. Some of my friends have rented really nice apartments in brownstones around there. Closer to campus, a lot of people live in the Northern Liberties area. The residents at the old Schmidt's brewery (now the Piazza) are cool, but can be noisy (and again, expensive). I think the people who own them own some other properties that might be cheaper though.
Also, FYI- white coats can also be ordered in XS, you just have to write it on the side. They run really big- I'm getting XS and I'm 5'6 and size 4/6, and I tried it on over a blazer.

My friend has an apartment on city ave. Nice area and good commute to temple as well.

Interesting stat from my interview the other day: 120 seats are confirmed already

I'm in the exact same position as you. Did you find any answers to your questions?

I hate is issue of wait listed blc it is beneficiary to the school only. I wouldn't pay my money and be waiting like a dog waiting for a bone.I am going somewhere else.

Does anyone know anybody that got taken off the wait list. And can someone please tell me how temple decides who comes off the list

Interviewed 3/26, accepted 3/29.

Looks like all the pharmacy students live in different places... Where should I live?! Would anyone like to room together?
