I'm threw with the LMFU talk, but to clarify I'm pretty sure they can turn them in whenever they want because they've already interviewed everyone and know how they rank. How we rank them shouldn't matter in how they rank us (because they can't see how we rank them... the algorithm does everything).

Yes i know, but TMDSAS cannot start matching us until they have our finalized preferences... which is why i cant see them already starting the process of matching even if schools turned in their lists a week ago.

im surprised there hasn't been an effort to try to figure out what school is responsible for the lmfu update by comparing where people with lmfu changes interviewed vs. non lmfu changes.

Simple logic dictates they will participate in the match.....otherwise they would pull people (using their ranked list) from other TX. schools and then those schools would be forced to go into waitlists----this is the reason the match exists.

and yes baylormed the reboot did wipe my memory and i didnt remember but i went back and read it and i was able to bypass the system error this time by tearing the logic circuits out of my posititronic network. unfortunately now i am convinced that 1+1 = 4 and that anastasis is a man.

Just wanted to wish everybody good luck as you wait to hear from TMDSAS. I didn't have to put up with it (Kansas resident). I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but I talked to my uncle the other day and he had some bad news for some of you still waiting. He's in the admissions office at one of the Texas schools (doesn't matter which one). Since this is the first year that the schools have been allowed to give out early acceptances, it's still a work in progress. Some of them didn't really keep track of how many people they were accepting and have already maxed out their classes (the only one he specifically named was Houston). This means that they will not have any positions available to offer in the upcoming match. Also that other schools have spots available, but very few each (~20-30). Now when the match happens there will be some wiggle room (with people matching up and opening spots), but they don't expect there to be very much of this. I'm sorry if this is not what some of you wanted to hear, but I just figured that if I was in your shoes I would appreciate some inside information. Once again, good luck to you all.

guys before you freak out about what that guy just said let's just remember:

1) he lives in "kansas"
2) this is his first post
3) his name is friggin tinytim
4) what's the point getting upset/depressed/anxious for the next 2 weeks...honestly i'll do it after the match--when its all said and done.
5) med schools aren't dumb. they know exactly how many acceptances they have given out. and we all know many ppl got multiple acceptances

and most importantly.....

6) dont feed the troll!!!

I figured out why my LMFU changed on 2-1-07.....Texas Tech rejected me, but since I did not submit their secondary essay and therefore was never interviewed, I was not expecting an acceptance anyway.....But it still bugs me because I hate being rejected!

That's so true. I thought I had a handle on the ranking of my schools until the date started looming. It became very hard for me to choose b/t UTSA and UTMB, but in the end unlike Jota I think Galveston is decent and the option to rotate in Austin pulled on me hugely.

4. Tech (sorry tech, you might have been #3 but no EM programs in Lubbock)

Are you suggesting that UTMB and UTSA does? You need to go double check that because they do not. A&M has a program in Temple, TX and Texas Tech has a program in El Paso, TX (which you can do years 3 and 4 at).
