hey guys,
i have an opinion based question that i guess is more hypothetical than anything else (about as much as the gpa matching mcat thread). anyway, im a little confused about how the texas matching system works, so i was wondering if you thought there was a correlation between the number of tx schools you interview at and the chance of getting in to just one of them? i guess this is best answered by peoples experience. im assuming you increase your chances with the more schools you interview at. i guess im a little paranoid since ive been only offered 3 invites, and i just want to get into one.... or do you think it possible to interview at all tx schools and still not get in at all? thanks

7 bad interviews = no acceptance

7 good/great interviews = acceptances everywhere

well right, thats how it would be if not for the matching system...but you only get into one, right?

well i thought it was a decent question.

How it works:
You rank your schools in order and the schools pick which applicants they want. Say for example, your list looks like this:

1. A&M
2. UT Houston
3. TCOM
4. UT Southwestern
5. San Antonio
6. Galveston
7. Tech

and TCOM, Galveston and Tech accept you, you only get an acceptance from TCOM. Only one acceptance.

ok, that part makes sense...but i was asking something like if you get interviews at all 7, are you pretty much a lock to get into at least 1? or have you heard of something like that not happening.

HELLO

one, seven, a million interviews don't guarantee you admission into a single med school.

Well, there are no guarantees, but there is a good chance that if you have 3 or more interviews you will match into 1 texas school. But remember, the way the match works, you only get into 1.

they opened Plano West during my senior year so the graduating classes have only been ~800-900 since then
