What should I write? So far I have,

Dear Dr. ____,

I wanted to thank you for granting me an opportunity to interview at ____. I look forward to working with you in the future.

Sincerely,

______

What did you guys write? Is this good enough? Thanks for the help!

"I look forward to working with you in the future."

Technically, this could be correct, but that line sounds more suited for a thank you card that would follow a job interview rather than an admission interview.

Does "I hope to work with you in the future" sound better?

What do you recommend?

Yeah, short and sweet is the way to go. Something along those lines should work. Good luck.

I seem to recall for last cycle that the consensus was that thank-you letters were generally a waste of time. What I mean is that they don't hurt you, but they don't necessarily help you. Sure, you can easily argue that it is a courteous thing to do and you can never be too courteous, but are they really necessary?

I would add something specific concerning the interview.
For example if you talked about something about your background, mention it.
Maybe you talk about a trip you took, then say " I enjoyed talking with you about my trip....."
But keep it brief as everybody says.
