What waitlists are you guys holding tight for? And what are the prospects of getting in? Being that orientation starts Aug 11, I figure my best shot from here is in the wonderful month of July.
Good luck everyone!

Vandy--not too much movement...Pat Sagen said it's been very stable thus far.
Pitt--lots of movement...my friend got in today. Still hopin' I'll get my turn.
Maryland--no movement yet. But hoping for more withdrawals.
UCI--looks like things are picking up finally...

This coming month will be a ride...

I'll join you guys!

1. Cincinnati: The waitlist has slowed down since the begining of June...but is still moving steadily.

2. Ohio State: Pretty much done at this point according to the nice man that answers the phone : )

But I am not giving up hope...I will still keep dreaming that one of them will call me! 😉

July is our month! i'm on 3 WLs, 0 acceptances....

UMich: still moving, but VERY slowly. they don't think that they will get much past the top tier of the WL. (not feeling too good about this, but no worries...)

Albany Med: last week, class was overbooked. this week, started moving b/c people w/ multiple acceptances dropped and chose other schools. so, expect good turnover here.

Med College of Ohio: started moving post June 15... moving slowly but surely all the way until the start of school--Sept 7th!

so that's all i got... but July is the month that's making it happen--no doubt!!!! keep truckin and it will all work out!!!
😀

Does anyone know anything about the Jefferson waitlist movement in July?

hello to my fellow waiters!

I am waiting on :

Moutn Sinai: Not much movement yet.....apparently the ad-secretary told me that people have been slow in replying this year...who knows?

Tufts: Moving, but it apparently goes into overdrive in July...or so I have been told.

Penn State: Not really sure what is going on there.....eh, its hershey anyway.......

July is our month!

Good luck to all😀 😀 😀

I am on 2 WL, no acceptances

1) Loyola: already posted by Lab-Rat21

2) Creighton: WL movement began mid-June. Dr Nipper says there is a large amount of movement in July and early Aug. Keeping my fingers crossed...

To all those on WL with no acceptances, when do you plan on submitting an application for 2004 (Not that any of us are going to need to)? 🙂 🙂 🙂

1) Columbia: Oversubscribed with the few waitlist spots promised, chances are "vanishingly small".

2) USC-Keck: Was oversubscribed until last week, only two have been taken so far.

3) Case Western Reserve: Had six too many committed to the class as of last week, no waitlist movement heard of yet.

4) University of Pittsburgh: So much movement! Why not me. 🙁

5) Emory: Small class size, seems to be mostly stable and moving very slowly, but I have no concrete information on it....

My sister just got off the Albany waitlist today but has already withdrawn. Good luck to whoever's still waiting and may get that spot!

EVMS: VERY SLOW MOVEMENT OF IN-STATE APPLICANTS
GW: FLUID (WHATEVER THAT'S SUPPOSED TO MEAN)
WASH U: EXTREMELY SLOW AND RARE

CHEERS TO ALL AND BEST WISHES TO ALL FUTURE DOCS OUT THERE!😉

IF YOU KEEP YOUR HOPES UP FOR JULY, SO WILL I

hey guys, have any of you heard about movement on the Robert Wood or NJMS waitlists. I am currently waitlisted on both (and keeping my fingers crossed). good luck to all of you.

Trubluwolv:

Medical College of Ohio has orientation on Aug 18 and starts classes Aug 25. I'm headed to MCO if I don't get into Cincy. I heard that they have a ton of waitlist movement throughout the summer, so good luck!

Dreamin--thanks for the clarification! congrats on MCO!
on my WL letter, it says that they're offering positions from June 15 to Sept 8... is that possibly a typo?

i don't know if you got in off the WL, but if you did, what did you letter say?

thanks again!

trubluwolv:

It must be a typo...because they can't accept students after the first day of classes.

I was accepted right after my interview in Jan. So I was never on the waitlist, but I'm sure your letter will say:

Congratulations trubluwolv on your acceptance at MCO! We have come to our senses and we have no idea how we could have waitlisted you. See you in the fall!

Ha, well something like that! Anyways, good luck and I hope you get in!

i'm waiting on tufts...have no idea whats going on with them cuz they wont give me any information.....

g'luck to everyone

Hey Tufts02......

I called the admissions office a few days ago. The woman told me that letters were sent this week and that committee would meet again in mid-July. It looks like they only meet every two weeks.

Good luck!

hey fellow waitlisters! has anyone heard anything from umass?

hi Dreamin--
thanks for the encouragement!!! hope it works out that way!
i'm keeping my fingers crossed!

don't know if you prefer Cinci to MCO, but hope things work out for you too!

Good luck everyone!
And keep this thread alive by letting us know of July acceptances and movements...it'll give us all hope!

hey all,

so i'm on four waitlists.

ucla--class is full, though admissions says a few spots may move

wash u-- got a letter saying the waitlist is still active

duke--no news

u.mich--no news.

OK I will join...but I must admit both mine are not looking good. I don't like my chances for this cycle

USC: as above...only 2 spots have been filled
UCLA: full class, and who wouldn't want to go to UCLA?

really happy that i got off of UVM's list a couple weeks ago but still waiting on....

UCSF - they basically told me i have no chance because i am on the second half of the list.

UCLA - today they said "we had some movement, but not alot." it doesn't seem hopeful but i am waiting for the biggest miracle of my life.

BU - they expect some more movement soon and sounded pretty positive.

GOOD LUCK! WAITLISTERS UNITE.

I was on Florida and SUNY Buffalo, but once UF truncated their list a few weeks ago I was rejected. Therefore my only hope is Buffalo. The waitlist has been moving pretty well, but I need it not to slow down or stop. Let me know if any of you guys have info. Good luck to everyone.

creighton. . .

slu. . .

drexel. . .

come on fellas, just one of you has to pull through

what about georgetown and gw?

I'm with you all - 4 WL + 0 acceptances = unhappy!
Pitt
Dartmouth
Drexel
MSU

Does this list span the Universe or what?

hey there everyone,

I'm on 4 waitlists...also with 0 acceptances. 🙁

Drexel
BU- yeah, I hear the waitlist will be moving pretty soon
Tufts- Heard their sending out decisions this week
Meharry--pretty much a lost cause. I havn't heard from them since December.

Well, always hoping for the best so...good news don't pass me bye.

hey everyone!

i'm getting me some july waitlist action...

7 waitlists and 0 acceptances. blah!

yale -- the director told me to be pessimistic.. never!!

upenn -- thought i was getting in after i talked to the admissions
director for quite a while. but i thought wrong.

and a whole slew of other schools i don't plan on hearing back from.. wash u., baylor, northwestern, vandy, and tulane..

at least there is beautiful weather outside in boston today!!

wow - I'm also on waitlists at Yale, UPenn and Baylor. Though I can't say I'm too optimistic about any of them. I've already submitted my AMCAS 2004 application. How did you get to talk to anyone at Penn? I'm trying to see if I can get any information on my chances right now, but all I got was someone telling me that "they'll call you back." That was last Thursday and I haven't heard from anyone. Is there anyone who knows who I should try to reach, if that's even possible?

hey ms. a,

what i did with penn was write the director, gaye sheffler, an email and she called me back.

you can call yale on mwf from 2-3 and talk to the silverman. he'll tell you exactly where you are on the waitlist (tier 1, 2, or 3) and what your chances are getting in.

ditto for the resubmission to 2004 cycle..

adding to list full of angst.....

i'm waitlisted at ucla, my dream school

i just withdrew from the waitlist at yale, wash u, einstein, cornell, uchicago and vandy, because i wanted to stay in california.

i was accepted at ucsd, so i'll be heading south if my dream of being a bruin goes south.

but yes, i think faith is hardly a commodity on this post.

for those on the ucla waitlist, what's the deal w/ the office?

i had conflicted responses. on friday of last week, i called and asked about the movement. a lady said that so far, a 100 people have either passed on ucla or have accepted positions off the waitlist.

then i went there yesterday and lilli at the admissions office said that only 15 people have been taken off the list. now, i don't kno wut the heck is going on, but does anyone else have anything about the movement on the waitlist?

I've been lurking in this place for a while....

2 WL (UNC and ECU), both of my state schools...no acceptances.
The good news (or not) ECU's WL is "only" 50- 60 people w/ movement expected in JULY .

I guess my MCAT wasn't quite high enough. (or maybe it was submitting 2003 AMCAS in Nov)

Anyway got 2004 ready to submit, after proof-reading and final touches in the next day or so, and INTENSE Aug MCAT preparation began today!!!!

KEEP THE FAITH+pissed+

waiting on columbia, but as xaelia already posted, chances are "vanishingly small."

it looks like with the economy and all, tons more people applied this year and has made waitlist movement a little stranger this year.

here's to hoping!

I will be officially withdrawing from the "JULY IS OUR MONTH" WAITLISTERS THREAD. The big man up above (yeah, I'm taking about Vince Lambardi) smiled apon me when I recieved the call from Creighton. There is still hope to all of you out there!!! I'm pulling for all of ya'.

It didn't take long for July to become my month-- on the 1st I got an email to call the Dartmouth Admissions Office for what was to be good news. I've withdrawn my place at Jefferson and my waitlist spot at Tufts, and I hope this helps those of you looking for a spot. Good Luck to you all, it seems like July is moving even more than June was.
