i sure was... thank you! 🙂

has anyone given up and submitted amcas again? or am i the only one here withougt an offer somewhere yet? 🙁

I got your back. I only have one waitlist left and I am not expecting anything (I've already gone through the 4 steps of recovery). My AMCAS is submitted for almost 2 weeks, and I've completed 2 secondaries. Who knows though, if hell freezes over I might be able to pack up and move 500 miles this weekend. Hey, it could happen...McWorld!

I'm sitting on two wailtlists. I have somewhat prep'ed my AMCAS for 2005 but am holding off for another 10 day just in case I'm pulled off a list. I still have some hope, since both my waitlists are state universities who are well known for having significant last minute movement. I will of course make some desperation phone calls right before I submit my AMCAS.

Keep the faith, until class starts at least.

I'm only on 1 wait list as well, at Jefferson. I was told by the dean that chances are there probably wouldn't be much movement, but IceKid got in yesterday, so I guess she was wrong. I'm still holding out with hope, but I've already begun to request transcripts and re-assemble my AMCAS for 2005. The towel is still in my hand, but it's about to get thrown in. 👎

Congrats to IceKid as well.

I would definitely work this waitlist situation wisely. I still have hope, but I have already had my transcripts sent to AMCAS for the 2005 cycle.

As they say "Hope for the best but plan for the worst."

So if you're only on waitlist I definitely recommend sending your transcripts to AMCAS so that your not to far behind. Then you can submit when you are sure you won't be getting in this year.

Hopefully we will see some signficant activity this week.

Best of luck to all.

send in transcripts and amcas when all schools have started not before, dont want to waist muney. 2 lists ones got to come through..............

Get the list moving peoplez

I finally got off the waitlist at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson on Mon (26th)!!! Got the phone call monday morning!! 😀

I finally got off the waitlist at Drexel today (28th)!!! Got the phone call this morning from the admissions office!!!!!

My first acceptance....woke me up this morning....I dont think it has hit me yet...I cannot beleive i am going to medical school NEXT FALL!!!!!
...Now i gat something to keep me busy for the next few days...financial aid and apartment search??? YES!! 😀 Goodluck yall....especially my fellow waitlistees...even though its about 2 weeks till most programs begin it is not over...never give up!!!!! I appreciate all the support this website had to offer!! Peace

Drip...Drip.....Drip....

It's a long trickle down to state schools from Hopkins but it will get there.

This is a good sign, a very good sign. It seems like things are happening.
👍

I'm on 3 waitlists, and wasn't even going to reapply til next year. But a week ago I decided to apply this cycle, and have been cracking on that AMCAS. I plan to have it submitted by the end of this month. I was surprised to find that the AMCAS app was mostly done anyway.

Good luck to everyone. I wish I could share in your optimism. I guess there's always a chance, but I don't see it happening.

I'm kinda surprised to see some movement now...but it makes me VERY happy! Way to go!!! I'm on 2 waitlists (SUNY SB and Einstein) with no acceptances. Submitted my AMCAS and just received notice that it has been verified & processed; sitting on 2 secondaries out of the 6 schools to which I'll apply (er, re-apply). And, I'm taking the dang MCAT again on the 14th....unless I get some good news before then. Pray for Mojo!!!

Congrats to those in, and hang in there to those in my shoes!!

What acceptance and waitlists will he/she be releasing?

Just an FYI. Received a call from Temple. Their WL is moving. I won't be accepting with Case starting in a week. Still, maybe that will help someone else out.

I got off the Creighton waitlist (via mail) on July 13th. Previously I had 2 waitlists and 0 acceptance. Creighton's waitlist is moving.

LSD131,
How do you know creightons list is moving? Did you do anything extra to get off the waitlist?

I say Creighton waitlist MOVE NOW.........

I wrote letters and updated them with grades & improved MCAT.

My last waitlist hope starts school on Monday. Seeing as how the admission office closed 10 minutes ago, I guess I'm not going to school next year. 🙁
Time to go throw my own little pitty party!

Sorry to hear it, man. 🙁 Go get drunk or something tonight, wallow in the pity.

Then tomorrow, pick yourself up, dust off the crap, and take the first step towards getting yourself in next year. Good luck! :luck:

Hi all....when you call schools to check waitlist status do you just speak to whoever answers the phone or do you ask to talk to the dean of admissions? I'm still holding out for U of Cinci....so far just been talking to the admissions office person. Good luck to everyone else waiting.... 🙂

I just got in at SLU about 2 hours ago (and their orientation starts August 2). Don't give up...

kwgold, I am sorry to hear that, it is a sucky unfair feeling. Do something crazy and loose some of that "waitlist-stress"

I'll be in your boat sooooon.........sadly

Im pretty much in the same boat, kwgold. It has been a long, anxiety filled year and even though I didnt end up w/ good new, im glad it's finally over. The waiting was cruel, but I realize it wasnt supposed to be.

Actually, I dont feel that depressed...I know I will get a second chance. Still, the worst part is having to explain to everyone (friends, family, random people that my mom told 🙂 ) my situation. Definitely not fun, but I'll live

Good Luck w/ everything and dont give up!

Hey guys:

I've been exactly where you all are now. It sucks, I know. But don't give up on yourselves. Look at what needs to be done (honestly, no BS) and there's a great chance that you'll find yourself with an acceptance.

:luck:

Hey guys, don't give up. Try to stay positive and be persistent, but polite. I just got off the waitlist today at VCU/MCV (7/31). Good luck everyone.

bosox....are you going to MCV and dropping an acceptance to another school??

I guess with the impending start of classes weekends are now in play for admissions offices. Yes / No?

NGemie-MCV was my first acceptance...

Congratulations to everyone who have gotten in off the waitlist. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done, and thank your lucky star 'cuz [we] are so damn fortunate.

For those of us still waiting, wish you guys the best in the upcoming days. Let us know of any good news received.

I heard that. For the past year, everyone's told me "you'll definitely get in" and all that junk, so when I have to tell them I didn't, I don't know who's supposed to feel more embarrassed, me or them, but it's definitely not fun.

Moving on, trying to get in again this year. I feel pretty good about it all.

Sounds like you are feeling the same thing that I felt after not getting in the first time. All my friends kept saying I have a feeling that you will get in even physicians and teachers said that to me.

But the good news is that you should not feel embarrassed, because as long as you keep trying I am sure you will prove them right and eventually get in.

To all that didnt get pulled from July, lets be the first to get in for this upcoming cycle.

heck yeah....just be on the ball this second time around, know that you've got an edge because you've been through interviews, and this time maybe you'll get in somewhere you never thought you'd get into the first time around!!!!

Chances are getting pretty thin for this year, but there still is a chance. Both my waitlist schools don't start till mid August and I'm sure there are a bunch of other schools that also start in August.

Anyway for those still wainting keep the faith. Some of us will still get in this year.

I finally got the call from SUNY Downstate on August 2nd and was offered a spot in the entering class of 2004. As you can all imagine I was thrilled to say the least. I know start dates are right around the corner but remember that the schools are also in a frenzy filling the seats from those last minute withdrawals, so everyone on a waitlist still has a chance.

Good luck to all and keep the faith, you're all still in the ballgame. 🙂

Just bumping up this thread from years past. Let's keep each other posted on waitlist movement. I'm waiting on EVMS and Albany. How about everyone else?

What waitlists are you guys holding tight for? And what are the prospects of getting in? Being that orientation starts Aug 11, I figure my best shot from here is in the wonderful month of July.
Good luck everyone!

Vandy--not too much movement...Pat Sagen said it's been very stable thus far.
Pitt--lots of movement...my friend got in today. Still hopin' I'll get my turn.
Maryland--no movement yet. But hoping for more withdrawals.
UCI--looks like things are picking up finally...

This coming month will be a ride...

Albany Med waitlist - I can feel it - this is the month. In fact, my spidey sense is tingling - I know the day I will be admitted. It's on...on.... dam, just gas.

Seriously, Albany seemed like a great school so I'd like to go there.

add me to the group.

i'm waiting on georgetown. still have about a month left to hear. :scared:

Add me to the list. Drexel is my only waitlist. No acceptance.

The admissions lady said most of WL movement takes place in July, so we'll see... :luck:

lol, I was wondering how this thread got so long, so fast, considering july just started today! Anywho, I have one acceptance, but I also have only 1 waitlist, Tufts, my top choice school. July is my only month, since I have to matriculate within 4 weeks. hopefully it works out!

i waiting for oooklah, hope some luck comes the west coast kids' way....

Its a thread from years ago, prob 03

hey hey

I remember this thread from last summer!! Aaaaaaand I am still part of it hoping something pans out this July as opposed to last. I am waiting on Maryland, EVMS, Temple and NYMC. Here's to hoping everyone!!

please please please let july be nice to all of us this summer... movement's been pretty slow so far, so maybe that means there will be lots of movement in the next couple weeks. 😀 :scared:

good luck everyone!

Hey all,

Props to whoever dug this old thread up, maybe it is a good luck charm since its stuck around forever.

I holding on for my number one pick before I can totally commit to my second pic. I feeling July, its a good month.

GL to all
