I'm obviously beginning to freak out as my options are dwindling...

I sent a thank you email to my POI from my top choice after my interview and I got a quick reply back that stated I was "an excellent candidate for the program" and he would be in touch shortly.

At first this solidified my belief that I was a good fit and definitely bolstered my confidence... but now, after 2 weeks and no decision from the program, I don't know.

Do you think I'm reading too much into his email? Is this a typical response to a thank you note?

Most people don't respond to thank you notes, and the professor would have no reason to say you're excellent if s/he didn't really feel that way. I would say it's a good sign. And some programs are just slow in making decisions/sending notifications.

Keep the faith!

Did you thank the prof for the response? I had a similar response to one of my thank you notes and wasn't sure if I should respond or not--so I sent a brief "thank you" because the prof really didn't have to do that.

Is everyone else checking this site to an almost pathological degree?

American, American... I almost hate you. I called today and they said that have extended some offers. People should be hearing soon. Yay. Or boo.

The prof I interviewed with at CUNY said the same thing to me, but that there were no guarantees... I am still holding out hope that they're making more calls today or that perhaps I'll be an alternate and hear something down the road because my confidence was also bolstered by that comment. It's so hard! I'll keep my (very shaky) fingers crossed for both of us!

I also had an encouraging prof at CUNY, but again... no guarantees. Today is a new day 🙂

did anyone get any info about funding for CUNY? The DCT said nothing about that, and I haven't heard back from ANYWHERE else I've interviewed for rejections or acceptances, so I figured I'd have some time before having to make a decision.

I was accepted by phone to Colorado State University - Counseling Pyschology PhD program on Friday the 27th. It freaked me out since they didn't interview and I had already just assumed I wouldn't hear from them, so I was pretty flustered on the phone, but I'm excited =).

Could the people who have written about Drexel PM me with the name of their POI. I'm also waiting on any sort of response. Especially the person who got accepted and the person who had a follow-up interview.

My favorite was one person sent me a thank you for the thank you note. 🙂

I realize I may be shooting myself in the foot here, but has anyone heard anything from the clinical/community program at GSU?

Offered admissions via email and a follow up phone call 3/3 by my POI at Bowling Green's clinical psych PhD program

Congrats!
I also had an interview there on 20th, so we might have met!
I haven't heard anything from them. 😕
Could you please tell me your POI or your interest area?

Thanks!

I believe that they do not give tuition remission, but the tuition is very small-- like $2,500 per semester. I think you can also work in one of the counseling centers within the CUNY system and make something like $16,000 per year.

Hope that helps!

Accepted to UVA- Curry on 2/23/09 and VCU Developmental/Clinical on 2/25/09 via phone calls from POIs!

Finally an end to this very very long process. Best of luck to everyone else!

Widener University PsyD programs. They offered me funding.

Now, to make some serious life altering choices....:scared:

Peace😎

For the Widener folks, were you all at the earlier interview?

I had a later interview date, but I will be away from home for the next few days and can't check my mailbox! Hopefully there is something there for me when I get back.

Hey...I was at the February 27th interview date. I was shocked that I received notification so quickly.

into UC Berkeley's clinical program...anyone else?

Not me! Well, I haven't been officially rejected but I didn't really think it was going to happen even at the weekend; there were so many people applying to the same labs. Did it seem like they were making all offers at once or was it a dribs and drabs kind of thing? I have a guess about who you were based on your screen name. Anyway, congrats! Since this is the acceptance thread, I should say that I'm into Oregon and Wisconsin-Madison, but I've known that for a while. I'm totally excited for grad school.

After being disappointed 2 years ago and getting ready to finish up my master's, I received two acceptances this year!

Widener University (via snail mail 3/5) - Interviewed 2/27

I will be attending University of Hartford. Good luck to everyone!

Accepted via email Saturday night (3/7). Interviewed February 19th.

(Definitely in my top two!! We'll see!)

If I get offers elsewhere (I had 9 interviews), I promise to release them asap. 😉 Good luck everyone!
